About This Mod

Add real lights to your Combat Ranger, Desert Ranger, or Riot Gear helmet without modifying or editing the .nif file.

Add real lights to your Combat Ranger, Desert Ranger, and Riot Gear helmets using the Lumen technique without modifying or editing the .nif file.


After the release of Lumen and getting to know the techniques used to illuminate static meshes, I wanted to find a way to add light to rigid meshes of armor, especially Rangers helmets. It wasn't easy because you can't apply light the way you apply a grid, but it turned out to be a good thing.


I ended up adding a fluorescent light to Dr. Lee's glasses and adding it to his helmet as ArmorAddon, making Lee's glasses invisible. This made no changes to the original head mesh and is compatible with other mods that edit the textures and patterns of the head mesh. For example, in the screenshot I took for 'F4NV NCR Combat Ranger', the glasses still glow.


The Desert Ranger helmet has not yet been tested, but its lights are green, not red.
