About This Mod

FO4 VFRT is a utility that allows the user to easily learn the name of a voice file for any line of dialog in the game. This is a simple adaptation of the old version for Skyrim, and for the most part there are no changes in its work.


To use, unzip the archive to the location of your choice and run "FO4VFRT.exe". Please see the attached readme file for details.


Key Differences from Skyrim Version


the data is generated by capturing directly from the game files instead of relying on the dialog file exported with the CK

only localized plugins are supported (this may change in the future)

the character encoding menu has disappeared, as all dialog is now encoded in UTF8

new audio playback capability (select a line and click the play button, or just double-click a line)

new audio extraction capability


Known problem: currently not supported modes with high DPI (interface looks strange, although still usable).

sound extraction no longer occurs when deleting folder %temp%\vfrt

fixed an error where an empty error message was displayed when the fuz was unsuccessfully extracted

the data generation window now displays the names of the selected files

Added "Merge files" feature to merge data files generated by different plugins

added data file "merged.vfr", containing english dialogs for the main game and three main DLC

readme file changed


If you are upgrading from a previous version, simply unzip the archive on top of the existing files and overwrite them. Let me know if you find any bugs or if you have suggestions for improvement.
