About This Mod

Update v1.1 (13.04.2016): Added new rebreezers (standard and Mk I - Mk V). To make these filters requires Science! 2 for fabrication and, in addition to the usual filter bonuses, allow you to breathe underwater.

Small update (20.04.2016): Fixed a typo in the folder structure, which prevented the NMM from setting two specific parameters (50 and 100 radiation resistances, Enable poison resistance, Enable helmets and studded armor, No AWKCR support).

You like the gas mask aesthetics, but are you let down by its stats? Does the lack of headgear while wearing gas masks keep you busy? Then try this mod, which will add to your gas masks a few craft improvements!

Gas Mask Upgrades adds the ability to create ten enhancements, divided into two categories, for your gas masks, which will allow you to increase radiation resistance, damage resistance, energy resistance and, optionally, poison resistance.

You can also wear caps on top of gas masks and gas masks with glasses. Nuclear fallout is no reason to look good, after all.

You can also add craft upgrades to the Cage and Spike helmets and/or add AWKCR support. The best mod descriptions are already included.

Prefer video? Gopher was so kind that he made a video about him (among others):

Thank you very much!

ITEMS AFFECTED

The following items receive new craft enhancements:

Gas mask (can now be worn with hats)

Gas mask with glasses (can now be worn with hats)

Assault gas mask

OPTION: Checkered armor with helmet (gets +15 to radiation resistance to match other gas masks)

MORE: Helmet armor "Spike" (gets +15 to the radiation resistance, as well as other gas masks)

UPDATES

The above items receive two new types of improvements: Filter upgrades and Armor inserts. Their manufacture requires a small amount of resources, and each update after Mk I requires an additional rank in the Armory pen.

Note that these improvements do not change the appearance of the gas mask.

Filter modifications exist in two variants: Filters and Reanimators (standard and from Mk I to Mk V).

Each filter update adds radiation resistance depending on your choice: +10, +50 or +100 for each upgrade, and a maximum of +50, +250 or +500 radiation resistance with Mk V filter.

Resuscitators, in addition to the above bonuses, also provide the ability to breathe underwater.

On request, updating the filter can give additional resistance to poison equal to 50% of radiation resistance, that is +5, +25 or +50 per update, a maximum of +25, +125 or +250 resistance to poison with a Mk V filter.

Armor inserts are available in the same six variants: No insertion and Mk I to Mk V.

Each armor insert adds +1 damage resistance and half the energy resistance, rounded up.

Thus, the Mk I armor pad gives +1 damage resistance and +1 energy resistance, while the Mk V armor pad gives +5 damage resistance and +3 energy resistance.

COMPATIBILITY

Compatible with the following modes:

Raider Overhaul WIP v9.2 by MadMAX713.

Gas Mask Upgrades adds 1 keyword: ma_GasMask. This is important because adding too many keywords to Fallout 4 can cause strange things to happen.

Gas Mask Upgrades is not compatible with any other mod that affects the following items: Gas Mask, Gas Mask with Goggles and Assault Gas Mask, and if you choose the appropriate option, Helmeted Cage Armor and Helmeted Spike Armor.

Gas Mask Upgrades is compatible with any texture or mesh changes for the above items unless they affect the actual performance.

Gas Mask Upgrades is compatible with AWKCR if you select the appropriate file.

Gas Mask Upgrades is compatible with Better Mod Descriptions out of the box. No compatible file required!

KNOWN ISSUES

-All affected gas masks found before installing this mode will not have standard mods (Standard Filter and No Armor Insert) installed in the respective slots. All the gas masks found after that will have the standard mods set. They are free to create and do not affect the stats of items.

Built with FO4Edit 3.1.3 for Fallout 4 1.4.132

MANUAL SETUP

See the following articles and videos from Gopher on how to enable and install mods for Fallout 4:

Enable mods for Fallout 4

Fallout 4: Installing mods on PC (manual)

To install this mod, simply place your .esp selection in the Fallout 4/Data folder.

If you haven't already, turn on the mod by adding the following line

to the Fallout4Prefs.ini file under [Launcher]:

bEnableFileSelection=1

If this string is already present but ends with 0, just change it to 1.

The mod should then load automatically the next time it starts

If not, you need to add it to the boot order,

found in AppData/Local/Fallout4/plugins.txt under the User folder.

Add a new row with the full name of the ESP you selected (for example.

BetterModDescriptions.esp) and save the file. Now the mod should load

if it is placed in the Data folder.

MANUAL UNINSTALLATION

To remove this mod, simply remove ESP from the Fallout 4/Data folder.
