Description
Allows you to add legendary mods to your gear. Three versions are available:
Basic: Legendary fashion is seen as any other mod, but with relatively high perch requirements.
Recycling: Legendary fashion does not detach and requires "Legendary parts" to make. They can only be obtained by disposing of the legendary items.
Exchange only: Legendary fashions can be removed and transferred, but they can not be crafted.
There is also an option to add some brand new legendary crafting effects! Here are a few examples:
Ninja: +150% damage from a sneak attack (fumble with Ninja Pepper).
Projectiles ignite the floor upon contact, like a flamethrower.
Superman: Get a jetpack effect on anything!
Caffeine: +15% to travel speed.
Balanced craft requirements are carefully selected, but I am open to feedback and suggestions.
Many of the legendary fashions are the same for melee weapons and pistols, so the perch requirements for creating them are usually from the Bloody Mess tree; neither the Weapon Nut nor the Blacksmith seemed appropriate to me. Some mods require very high SPECIAL requirements (e.g. Ghoulish for mods related to ghouls, or Nuclear Physicist for mods related to supermutants and radiation). Others require high ranks in craft feathers. I don't want to make the craft too simple until late in the game: I still want to rejoice when I see a legendary enemy!
Unique legendary effects, such as Grognac's Things and the Atom's Court, are included in the game.
Some mods, such as Furious, appear only on melee weapons in-game, while others never appear on melee weapons. The installer has the option to remove these restrictions if necessary.
Differences compared to similar mods
This mod was created from scratch, but is inspired by teaLz's excellent Legendary Modification fashion. Here are the differences between them:
LTCL has higher requirements for perks, which I have tried to make more appropriate to the type of fashion.
The components of the LTCL craft are more variable and more related to the nature or name of the perch.
LTCL is currently active and tested with the latest patch and DLC.
DLC is supported, including new legendary effects. (DLC is optional.) There is now a third-party DLC add-on for LM written by junks808. It does not change the LM itself and can be found here.
I know two more mods that are similar to this and LM, but use a slightly different approach to make the legendary effects difficult to access:
Legendary Effect by SamusKnight2K. This mod allows you to separate and create legendary effects with a new item that falls out of enemies. The recipes, according to the developers, are quite uniform. It has full DLC support.
Lethally Legendary by Derpsdale. A crafting system similar to the Legendary Effect, but with more varied crafting requirements and customizable complexity. Dearpsdale also added a host of new handmade effects. As far as I know, the mod does not support DLC (at least not yet).
There are probably other similar fashions, but I don't want to update this theme forever. Look around and experiment!
Installation and Compatibility
It is recommended that you use a mod manager (such as NMM); the installer is included. The boot order probably doesn't matter much, except that the DLC patch should go after the main plugin. I use LOOT to sort everything out for myself, and I recommend you do the same.
This mod should be compatible with anything that does not directly alter the legendary mods or introduce craft recipes for existing mods.
Fashions on items:
If another mod adds a new item, it MUST automatically have a Legendary Fashion slot on the Craft menu, provided that the modified item includes the Legendary Anchor Point. If an object does not have a snap point, the way to fix this is to add the ap_legendary keyword to the object in the CK or FO4Edit. I don't want to make patches for fashion items, but I'll help anyone who wants to make their own patch or update their mod to include a snap point.
Fashions with legendary effects:
If another mod adds a new type of legendary modification, it will only appear in the craft menu if the craft recipe has already been enabled. If the recipe is not provided, the legendary modification can be removed, and if the fashion author has not taken certain precautions, it will disappear forever! Reinstalling another fashion might bring it back, but don't tempt fate.
All mods listed in the "Similar mods" section above have limited compatibility with this mod and are not supported as compatible. You can try, but get duplicates and possibly missing craft recipes. Other unusual behavior is also possible.
A compatible separate version of Legendary Modifications Enhanced by gokuGX is located in the Additional Files section. This is an esp shared with permission from gokuGX. Approve LME if using this version! It uses the same recipes as the LME, which will not necessarily go well together. It exists only for the sake of compatibility.
After some testing, it seems that thingy123's Custom Legendary Modifications is fully compatible, no patch is needed. Depending on which mod is loaded first, the name of the legendary fashion slot may change, but this seems to be the only conflict. More rigorous testing is planned.
Perk fashion
Pepper mods will work if they do not change the number of Pepper ranks used as craft requirements. These mods can remove the perk that I refer to as a requirement, which will cause a failure in the workbench. If your game hangs in the crafts menu, it's almost certainly caused by a conflict with the Perk fashion. The most common cause is an error in several popular perky mods, due to the fact that they remove level requirements in an unsafe way. I have created and uploaded patches for Perks Unleveled and Better Idiot Savant (No-Level versions) in the section of additional files.
Other Fashions:
Download this mod after sorting mods. The sorting patch is on my long-term to-do list. There is a compatible version for Better Mod Descriptions from TakaruMinari. Download BMD before this mode.
Automatron:
The legendary Charged prefix deals only radiation damage. Everything else is a property of the weapon itself. The description has been updated accordingly.
The Tesla Rifle is not a legendary weapon in the vanilla, so it does not have a legendary set-top box, despite being written in the game. The DLC patch fixes this by adding the legendary Lightning effect to ranged weapons, with some exceptions.
The patch also adds the legendary slots to some items that didn't have them.
Far Harbor:
New legendary attachments now have craft recipes etc! This is a simple add-on.
Nook's World:
New legendary items now have recipes for making, etc!
The new powerarmor mods control the PA colors on the X-01 (Quantum) and T-51 (Nuka-Cola) variants.
I made Nuka-themed power armor more powerful so it could compete with other legendary effects. Both add a bonus to the movement speed of +5% per item. In addition, the effect of Quantum is +3 AP/s/item (was +2 AP/s/item), and Nuka-Cola is +1 agility per item (was +0.5). Both modes can be applied to both PA and regular armor; items must be worn to receive bonuses.
Known issue: Some mods require Party Boy or Party Girl to be created. This requirement is always displayed as Party Boy in the crafting interface. However, the equivalent rank of Party Girl will still allow you to create an item.
Bad combinations
Some weapons behave very poorly with certain legendary modifications. For example, Neverending causes errors when using certain weapons such as Junk Jet, Laser Musket, and others. Other combinations simply do not work, for example "Nimble Combat Knife". I've made all of these combinations nonworking, but if you choose a version of this fashion that allows you to change mods, it will allow you to replace some of these bad combinations. This is a known issue, and it is also present in Legendary Modifications. The solution is not obvious to me. For now, please check your weapon if you swap the legendary fashion for it. Everything you create must work perfectly.
