My new fashion The Mobile Mechanic (Portable Craft and Scrap) is the perfect complement to Campsite!
Campsite adds portable tents and sleeping bags (new mesh and HD textures in several colors, including camouflage), fabric walls, bonfires, lights and cooking pots, each with its own unique dynamics, sounds, interactivity and animation. Simple enough to play, but detailed enough to make you feel involved.
Everything is very simple and safe, so in the middle of the game you can add new elements. I don't recommend removing mods in the middle of a game, but you can safely remove this mod at any time.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW, YOU WILL FIND IN THIS DEMO, PLEASE SPEND A FEW MINUTES VIEWING!
NEW ITEMS:
A new category was created at the chemical plant called CAMPING GEAR. If you use the Armor and Weapon keywords, all items will be in the OTHER category. I didn't create a new category because the limits are discovered there.
Adventures in Hike (no longer required for creation, starting with version 1.0.2): When available in the inventory unlocks all color variations; can be found in the Root Cellar in the Shelter (video).
The set includes the following colors: vanilla/white, black, blue, forest camouflage, desert camouflage, gray, green, red, and for sleeping bags - two additional colors: Nuka Cola (red) and Vault-Tec/Vault-Boy (blue).
Homemade tent: Tarpaulin stretched on a branch, under it a sleeping bag, you can attach a lantern.
Post tent (single): A new one-bed mesh tent. The lamp can be attached. Available in 7 colors.
Pole Tent (double): Same as above, but with two beds, so you can sleep with companions/NPC. You can attach a lantern. Available in 7 colors.
Sleeping bag: A kind old sleeping bag. 10 colors available.
Beds for dogs! New furniture with unused Dogmeat sleep animation (and new snoring sounds!) - it will sleep until you wake it up! Available in 7 colors.
Fabric wall: The fabric stretched between the two pillars provides additional shelter and protection from the wind. 7 colors available.
Campfire set: Wood, oil, cloth combined into a set for igniting and maintaining fire.
Cooking pot: Attached to a campfire for cooking in the wild. A lit fire is required.
Lantern: Portable lantern on the go! Attached to tents or can be put on the ground and will not fall.
GPS Beacon: Throw it at the campsite to mark the Pip-Boy map and use it as a base. Can be used anywhere.
All items have equivalents in the Workshop (optional ESP) so you can make these items in your settlements. Tents/sleeping bags can be found in the section Furniture>Beds. Beds for dogs, fabric walls are in the section Decorations>Bowls. Fires and lights can be found in the section Power>Light. Tents are counted as single or double beds in the settlement statistics, and fires bred in settlements, burning forever.
HOW:
WATCH THE VIDEO. I guarantee that there you will find the answer to your question. It's very short.
Take the book "Adventures in Camping" in the Root Cellar in the Shelter so you can make all the colors! (If you don't have a book in inventory, you'll only see standard white and brown options. I did this to avoid cluttering the craft/workshop menu, but I am open to feedback.
Create items that you would like to take with you to the Chemical Station. You need to create portable versions that will be separated from the workshop tents. They'll be in your inventory called "Hiking kit - [item]." Fires burn in a few hours, so stock up on a few!
When it comes time to set up a camp, look for an even platform: furniture does not like to work at cool angles. Nearby there is always a flat area, even in the middle of the street!
Stand where you would like to place the item and throw it from the inventory. He'll be right in front of you. Arrange your camp as you like.
When you interact with items, you get a menu whose first item is always the item's default action. For example, a sleeping bag will offer you to choose "Sleep" or "Pick up" that will return it to inventory.
Each item has a MOVE and ROTATE sub-menu that will allow you to move and rotate items if you want to better position them. Of course, it's not as good as the Workshop system, but it's better than nothing. Sometimes, simply lifting and dropping an item again is the best way to move it.
TENTS: If you have a lantern in your inventory, the Attach/Detach Lantern option will appear in your tents. It automatically hangs it inside the tent, giving you a soft, dim light. The lantern can be removed, and if the tent is raised, it will also return to your inventory. Followers can be told to sleep in a tent and they will sleep with you.
FIRES: The decomposed fires burn for 4 hours. You can activate the campfire and light it again using another campfire set. If you have a cooking pot in your inventory, you will be asked to attach it to the fire to cook the food. NPCs and companions will sit by the fire, and you as a player will see the RELAX option, which will offer you three options: sit, warm your hands, warm your hands on your knees. The vanilla camera does not adjust to these animations, so it is best to zoom out in the third person mode when using it. After doing nothing, you can wait like in a regular chair, or press any key to get up.
COOKING KITTEL: A lit fire is required. If the fire goes out, the pot will no longer work, and you will have to re-ignite the fire with a different set.
DOG BED: I'm very happy with it. Tell the dog meat to lie down and it will fall asleep. The animation is not used, the head tracking is disabled to avoid being creepy, and it will snore softly to avoid appearing dead. Just order him to follow you or do something else to wake him up!
DOMESTIC BELOVER! If you activate the bed, you will be able to stroke Dogmite if he is close enough. With a 50/50 chance, your male or female character will also say "Good Dog!" or "Good Boy!"
WORKSHOP ITEMS:
Most items have equivalents in the Workshop, so you can decorate your settlement with tents that are considered beds, and use new sleeping bags. To avoid incompatibilities or restrictions on keywords, I had to use vanilla keywords, so you can find them in the following list:
SLEEPING BAGS / TENTS are located in Furniture > Beds
Fabric walls are located in the section Decorations > Miscellaneous
DOG BEDS are located in Decoration > Miscellaneous (I have kept them where the dog house is located)
The lights are in the section Electricity > Light
The lamps are located in the section Electricity > Light
The cooking pot is located in the Crafting section (the workshop version works without a campfire to do).
The tents have built-in lights, and when activated, they can be turned on/off. Settlers won't hang out automatically at bonfires, because there are many mods that add mats for idleness, and that's a more flexible way, IMHO. Bonfires burn forever, and they don't have any menu options (maybe I'll add "Relax" for the player).
