About This Mod

Replaces the companion's standard weapon with an improved version with carefully chosen statuses and visuals.

The companion's default weapon is of little use.


Some have already installed improved versions, but I found that such items and weapon kits are collected completely haphazardly. I thought that every companion should have a weapon that reflects their personality and style of play, but Bioware tricked us into doing it.


This mod is trying to fix the situation.


We have manually adapted each weapon for the respective companion and have given each item its 3D model (hopefully it better matches the theme, style of play, personality and overall companion presence).


The descriptions themselves are a little wordy (and it is still mildly said), but they always remind of the times of Baldur's Gate II, when the description of the subject drew you into the world, giving a little information about history or tradition about the subject under study. Unfortunately, in DA2 it's very small, so I've created small backstories for each weapon and hope you enjoy reading them just as I liked writing them.


Weapons are powerful, evolve and have good stats, but that doesn't mean they can destroy an enemy with a single punch. In addition, some have more rune slots, others don't. This is done to balance everything (more passive stats = fewer rune slots).


Finally, you should see the changes in the pictures.


If you decide to download mods, there are detailed installation instructions in the readme file, so I will not go into this topic. Note that you need Vaddi if you want to add new items to the current game (or use pyGFF, but it's troublesome).
