About This Mod

Briefly

This adds trot/tilt (i.e. turn/tilt) functionality to the world map user interface. Use it to see the verticality of the Night City, distinguish between streets and highways, find hard-to-reach places and place more specific pins on the map!

Controls

Controller: Right stick (X/Y axis)

Keyboard: Arrow keys (up/down, left/right)

Per length

This feature was created at the user's request: I modified my client to immerse myself in the game (subway system, limited HUD, survival system and increased complexity). As a result, it was difficult for me to distinguish between vertical routes and to find NCART railway stations. This made it easier to study the city map and learn the routes to the next destination.

This is a simple redscript that wraps the WorldMapMenuGameController HandleAxisInput and HandlePressInput methods in cyberpunk/UI/fullscreen/map/worldMap.swift. It adds event handlers for the x/y axis of the right stick and keyboard arrows.

I also included a short article with links to the resources I used to make this change for those interested in modding. In addition, if I am somehow zeroed in on the HDI, that information should be enough to allow someone to follow my actions and correct it in the future.

Installation

Extract the contents of the mod into a folder with Cyberpunk 2077. Or just drop the .reds script somewhere in the Cyberpunk 2077/r6/scripts folder.

Uninstall

Delete the MapStreetView folder and/or the MapStreetView.reds file from the Cyberpunk 2077/r6/scripts/ folder.

Compatibility

It is confirmed that it works from 2.02.

Initially I updated it for 2.0+ and was greatly inspired by the fashion of Jekky cards. Thank you Jekky!

This will conflict with mods that affect WorldMapMenuGameController HandleAxisInput and HandlePressInput, which use the right stick axis and arrow keys in the map's user interface. I think that conflicts will be rare, since they will have to use the same key bindings in the map's user interface, and there are very few mods for the map's user interface.
