MapInstaller v0.0.2

MapInstaller is a mod assistant that makes it easy to add and update custom maps in Cities Skylines 2.


For end users.

Installing Cards with Mod Manager

Installing a card with rModMan is very easy:


1. Install MapInstaller:

- Install MapInstaller: Get MapInstaller from Mod Manager. You only need to install it once.


2. Install the card:

- Select and install the card from the Mod Manager. When you start the game, MapInstaller will automatically install or update the map.


For map creators.

MapInstaller helps you distribute your maps easily to the community. To prepare the map for distribution:


Prepare a map

1. folder structure:

- Place the map files .cok and .cok.cid in the map name folder in BepInExplugins (for example.

- You can also create a Maps subfolder in the Maps folder and place the files in it: BepInExplugins: you can also create a Maps subfolder in the Maps folder and place the files in it. Note that some application launchers may not support subfolders.


2. create a zip file:

- If it is distributed as a ZIP file, include the Maps folder; the structure of the ZIP file should reflect the settings in the BepInExplugins directory.


3. Testing:

- Test the card with MapInstaller to ensure that it is installed and updated correctly.


Manual Installation (Power Users)

To install without using MOD Manager:


1. Download the map:

- Obtain the map file and place it in the BepInExplugins directory according to the structure specified by the map creator.


2. Run the game:

- Open Cities Skylines 2. MapInstaller will take over.


Notes from the Mod Manager.

MapInstaller checks for both BepInExplugins and Mod Manager cards. Conflicts may occur if you have maps from multiple Mod Manager or versions installed. To avoid problems.


- Regularly clear the cache or remove mods from unused mod managers.

- Make sure that the maps downloaded through different mod managers have the same version.


Uninstall.

MapInstaller does not automatically uninstall; if you uninstall cards through the mod manager, manually delete the card files from the BepInExplugins directory so that MapInstaller cannot install them.
