I was always sad that companions lose their tents when passing Origin. Without them, the camp seems so empty... Wiley deserves his bills!! Where did it go?! And, for that matter, where's Clive?!?! Karlah needs her little friend!!!
C. So I fixed it! (Finally!!)
This mod allows companions to keep their hiking tents even when you pass the Origin. He will also restore their belongings around the beds in the Elven Song. It works for all 6 Origin characters, for all camps. Now your camp will not seem so fruitless when you play as a companion! And Will and Astarion can also keep all their belongings in my aisles Wyllstarion...
Tave and Durj are unaffected by this fashion! It won't create camp tents for them, but I haven't encountered any problems at all while testing the custom characters, so you can install it for both Origin and custom walkthroughs. It just doesn't affect anything if you don't play Origin!
Fashion has several features that may explain why Larian decided to disable the Origin character tents in the first place:
Avatar of Origin characters do not return to their tents when another character is chosen; they simply remain where they originally stood. This is necessary for the player character's functioning! It would be very unpleasant if the character you are playing for continues to return to his tent. This is not a bug (none of the things I've listed here are really bugs), and I'm not going to change that.
Origin Avatar characters will not be idle either. Some of their idlers depend on the location of their tents, so again, it is necessary that the player character is not pulled into these areas. I'd recommend the mod "Stay put in camp and play idle animation everywhere" from SatanModding and AlitheaAncunin if you want to bring back some of these camp slackers!
The first time you load a certain camp level, sometimes the character will be placed right in front of his tent, but this does not apply to all levels! This also does not happen during subsequent downloads of this camp level (or at least not while I was testing). Instead, they will appear where the player character usually appears.
Maybe I'll fix the last two things a little bit eventually, but for now I'll leave them as they are. These are not the problems breaking the game, it's just, again, small quirks in the way the Origins function as player characters/avatars, and so some of them are actually a little bit necessary.
