"Open all the cells"

STEP 1) Install UE4SS.

STEP 2a) Either set the mod automatically using the "Vortex" or "Mod Manager Download" buttons, or

STEP 2b) Manually download the ZIP file and unzip the OpenAllCages folder:

Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods\

Use / Snap Keys

By default, the mod is started using the following key binding:

ALT-DEL = Unlock all nearby animal cells.

You can change this by editing the file

Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods\OpenAllCages\Scripts\main.lua

It should be obvious how to do that. A list of key names and modifiers (CONTROL / ALT, etc.) can be found on the UE4SS wiki page.

For example, if you want the key to be CTRL-F1 instead of ALT-DEL, change:

RegisterKeyBind(Key.DEL, {ModifierKey.ALT}, function()

on:

RegisterKeyBind(Key.F1, {ModifierKey.CONTROL}, function().

Or, to use the "1" key on a numeric keypad without a modifier (i.e. without SHIFT, CTRL or ALT), use:

RegisterKeyBind(Key.NUM_ONE, function()).

Troubleshooting

If the mod does not work, check the UE4SS log file here:

Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\UE4SS.log

Get rid of the annoying UE4SS console window

After installing UE4SS, you will see a gray console window that appears every time you start the game. This UE4SS does its job, but you don't really need to see it. To remove it, edit the Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\UE4SS-settings.ini file and change the following three items to zero:

ConsoleEnabled = 0

GuiConsoleEnabled = 0

GuiConsoleVisible = 0

How to temporarily disable mod

Or:

1) Disable it in Vortex.

2) Edit the Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods\mods.txt file

add/edit a line that reads: OpenAllCages : 0 and delete the file OpenAllCages\enabled.txt

How to re-enable mod

Or:

1) Enable it in Vortex.

2) Edit the Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods\mods.txt file

and add/edit a line with the following content: OpenAllCages : 1. You do not need to recreate OpenAllCages\enabled.txt

How to Uninstall an Installation

Or:

1) Delete it through Vortex, BUT also check that the following folder has disappeared after this:

2) Delete Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods\OpenAllCages folder

Known Issues

* This mod unblocks all nearby cells with animals. It is not known how far this extends...

* It should make a sound when the cell opens. For some reason, this is not happening.

* Do not accept the information on the screen as true. When it is said that two cells are open, that may or may not be true.

* Some open and empty cells are still marked as "locked" in the game, so they will be "unlocked" by this mode with no apparent effect.
