About This Mod

The Alfa 6 (119 series) is a model of a business-class personal car produced by the Italian company Alfa Romeo from 1979 to 1986. The first generation of this model was produced until 1982 and 5,748 units were produced in three years; the model was modified in 1983 and various versions with improved engines were produced until 1986. In total, more than 12,000 Alfa 6 have been released.

Historical Review.

With the introduction of Alfa Romeo's flagship Alfa 6, the four-door body became quite orthodox and similar in style to the existing Alfa Romeo Alfetta. In fact, the two cars shared many common parts, including door panels. The Alfa 6 was designed before the launch of the Alfa Romeo Alfetta, but development was delayed due to the 1973 fuel crisis, and the car did not enter the market until 1979.


The body design was not very aerodynamic, but the drag coefficient was quite good. The newly developed 2.5-liter V6 engine produced 160 bhp at 5,600 rpm and had a six-cylinder camshaft with six carburetors. The engine and gearbox were at the front, and the differential was at the rear. The suspension was de Dion at the rear and independent at the front, with the gearbox also positioned at the front; the ZF three-speed automatic was available as an option, and the ZF power steering was first installed on the Alfa Romeo.


Electric windows, power steering, central locking, electric mirrors and a high-resistance differential were installed. Since these options were usually quite expensive, this basic configuration made the Alfa 6 more competitive in price compared to other sedans. The car also set new safety standards. For example, the model was equipped with trunk impact sensors, which shut off the fuel supply in the event of a crash.
