About This Mod

The Italian company Alfa Romeo introduces the Alfa Romeo 75, a mid-size sports sedan produced by Alfa Romeo since 1985. The Model 75 was released to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary and was a commercial success, with approximately 400,000 units produced until 1992. The model was assembled in the city of Arese in the province of Milan, where it once existed, hence the American name of the model - Milan.

Technical review.

The car was unveiled in May 1985 as a successor to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Alfa Romeo Alfetta, having many components in common. It was designed by Hermanno Cressoni of the Alfa Romeo Style Center. The body was in the form of an impact wedge, narrowing to the front, with rectangular headlights and a corresponding radiator grille. The sedan was equipped with a state-of-the-art diagnostic computer, which monitored the state of the system and warned the driver about possible problems and malfunctions.


Technical solutions were also characteristic. The mechanical balance between the rear and front of the car was almost perfect, achieved by a five-speed gearbox located at the rear and connected to the rear differential (the so-called transaxle). The rear disk brake was mounted on the gearbox housing. The suspension was a combination of torsion beams and shock absorbers in the front and a "de Dion" suspension with shock absorbers in the rear. The crankshaft of the engine was directly connected to a propeller shaft passing under the bodywork from the engine to the gearbox. To prevent vibrations and damage to the engine and the box, the rotating parts were connected by elastic couplings.
