1Lg-600A

1LG-600A - a series of Soviet residential buildings for industrial house construction, built according to the Polish project, reworked by the Institute LenZNIIEP in the mid-1960s. Originally, housing was built by Avtovskii DSK-3 in Leningrad and its suburbs. Its white facade was covered with windows resembling the deck of an ocean liner, which gave it the popular name "Ship".

Historical Background.

At least seven model nine-story projects with different number of sections and orientation were developed on the basis of the Polish project. The housing project was approved by decree of the State Construction Committee on January 23, 1965. The first residential facility 1LG-600A-5 was built from September 27, 1967 to December 29, 1968 under the personal guidance of A.B. Tovbin and was handed over to the State Commission without assessment in connection with the use of new structures and materials in the experimental scheme of construction. On the same day, Avtovsky DSK-3 completed the construction of the first apartment building of the 1LG-600A-1 project on Novatorov Avenue, 67. On this foundation, a 12-story house 1Lg-600A-1-12 was soon built (later the project was finalized and approved as 1Lg-600A-8). At that time, the construction of new quarters in Leningrad was carried out mainly on the projects A-5, A-7 and AI1 and their sectional buildings. Spot construction was not used so often and was sometimes erected in neighborhoods of the Khrushchev era. In order to diversify the building in the future, DSK-3 began experiments and carried out a full-scale modernization of the project of targeted construction. In 1974-1975, six 15-story experimental buildings, code 9365/E with the index 1Lg-600A/14 were built on Pioneerstroy Street, in future they will cease to be used. The A-2, A-3, A-4 and A-6 buildings were not completed.

This series was one of the largest in the 1970s, but by the end of the decade its fame was overshadowed by the complete collapse of the 15-story point 1LG-600A-9 on Kustodiev Street in Leningrad on February 27, 1979. The cause of the collapse was that the joints of the facade panels were filled not with hernitite gaskets, but with cement mixture. Cement mixed with salt solidified in the cold, causing an improper redistribution of loads between the structural elements of the house, which led to the partial destruction of the bearing column and collapse. Another nearby house was fortified with logs and subsequently collapsed. After this incident, the construction of houses decreased, and after 1982 in Leningrad completely stopped, and they were replaced by series 600.11. Since then, the 1Lg-600A has been built only in the suburbs of Leningrad. Construction of five-story reconstructions in small settlements was especially widespread: From 1984-85 the windows in the houses under construction were replaced by standard windows of type 600.11. The last houses of this series were built in 1989 in Vsevolozhsk. Currently, these houses are considered popular in the secondary market of economy class housing, their main advantage is location in old residential areas with developed infrastructure.

Projects.

In some districts of Leningrad, housing is being built in the form of elongated settlements with brick inserts. Such buildings were used to mitigate strong sea winds in coastal areas. In Ulyanka and Sosnoy Polyana there are houses with suspended heat-insulating panels. There are also examples of three-story houses used as hotels and administrative buildings.

*The 1Lg-600A/70 model has served as the basis for residential projects of various configurations and will be released as a separate mod with the possibility of assembling houses from separate sections.

Layout.

In contrast to Khrushchevsky housing, 1LG-600A has an elevator and garbage disposal. Buildings with 12th and 15th floors are equipped with a second elevator with a load capacity of 240 kg. The main disadvantages of independent buildings are considered to be poor heat and sound insulation. In addition, because of the layout of the kitchen are small, and the bathroom has no space for a washing machine; apartments with three or more rooms usually have a passage room, and the kitchens are small, and the bathroom has no space for a washing machine. In the project 1Lg-600A/70 kitchen area in the three-room apartment was increased to 10.5 m2 due to the projecting facade.
