Lighting RPL Mod
About This Mod
RPL Lighting Mod's mod is designed to expose the beauty of ray tracing by removing artificially enhanced lighting and reflections from characters and surroundings. Lighting has become more realistic, and there will no longer be pitch shadows and too dark interiors with RT enabled. All the surroundings and the weather were changed. At the same time, all the original colors of the leaves, sky, sun and moon were left unchanged.
All editing and testing was done on a calibrated sRGB monitor.
This mod is intended for use with RT enabled, but it can look good without it. However, you will need to install an additional 'RPLlightingmod_nonRT' file instead of the main one. Do not install both because they will conflict. Please note that without RT Global Illumination, the results will differ from those shown in the screenshots.
I removed the lights on the street and indoors, but left them on for dialog and cutscenes. If you want to remove them, I would recommend using No Artificial Player Light - Next Gen.
Installation
1. Simply put the main files in the 'The Witcher 3' installation folder. For example, 'C:\GOG Galaxy\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt'.
1.1. If you want to try this mod with RT disabled, install an additional 'RPLlightingmod_nonRT' file instead of the main one. Do not install both because they will conflict. I would also recommend not installing additional caves and interiors unless you are using RT.
2. Because of the way ray tracing is implemented in this game, artifacts may appear in caves and interiors that may distract some. Therefore, starting with version 1.2, those with their own env became optional. To install them, simply download from the "Optional" section and drop the files into the 'The Witcher 3' installation folder.
3. One .ini file is included in the package. RPLlightingmod.ini is necessary for proper operation of the mode and should not influence fps.
