If you are updating the mod, be sure to reinstall the master and patch files.

Check game cache/files.

Make sure that the files "user.settings", "dx12user.settings" and "input.settings" in the folder '...Users\%user%\Documents\The Witcher 3' are not set to read-only.

If you have any version of Magic Spells for Signs and Weapons installed, remove the dlcAdtomes folder from the 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\dlc\' directory and the Modadtomes folder from the 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\mods\' directory.

If you have upgraded from version 3.52-ng, remove the 'modMagicSpellsRevamped_NGEN_mod' folder from the 'mods' folder!

0) DO NOT use any installation managers, there is information that they may skip some files.

1) Download the main 'Magic Spells' file

2) Copy the contents of the main file folders ('bin', 'dlc' and 'mods') to the main directory of 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt'.

3) Open the inputsett.txt file in the archive containing the main file and follow its instructions.

3.a) Ignore the additionalInput.txt file if this is your first installation.

4) Download the Next-Gen patch, copy its contents (the 'bin' and 'mods' folders) to the main 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt' directory, replacing the files.

5) Open Script Merger, update and re-merge any conflicting files.

5.a) If you get errors compiling scripts, ignore everything that starts with "Warning", and pay attention to "Errors" - most likely, you missed something during installation or incorrectly installed other mods.

6) Go to 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\', add the following line at the end of both 'dx11filelist.txt' and 'dx12filelist.txt' files:

modAMagicSpells.xml;

6.a) Or just use this utility

7) Launch the game, go to the settings of this mode and set all four entries to the default.

8) Play.

Additional notes:

I noticed that the game can change its settings after installing some mods, so if you see a "Game Updated" notification or something like that when you start the game, you need to change the mode settings again (set all defaults at least) and check if the spells keys are saved in the input.settings file (if not, add the keys from the inputsett.txt file again).

(Not relevant for Vladimir UI users) I added the option "Always select the last selected item in the radial menu": Next-Gen radial menu now works a little differently - to select an item, you need not only scroll it, but also confirm the selection. This option "force select" the last item of the spell (and only its) to which you have scrolled the menu. So, if you have, for example, scrolled through spell items, selecting what you need, and then moved the cursor to select any bomb or sign, the last selected (scrolled) spell item will be registered as "equipped" and you will be able to cast its spells.

If you are using Ghost Mode (or another mod) and you are having trouble merging the file "effectTypes.ws", make sure you have selected code chunks from both mods (press CTRL+2, then CTRL+3) when the merge displays the merge window.

If you are using W3EE, install the original mod and the corresponding compatibility file, start Script Merger, merge the files "actor.ws", "hudModuleRadialMenu.ws", "ProjectileTrajectory.ws", "r4Player.ws" and "locomotionDirectController.ws" (don't worry, this should be auto-merge), otherwise skip. Ensure that the optional folder has the highest priority.

Witcher 3 - Enhanced Edition - Lazarus Project is not supported.
