About This Mod

This mod adds to Skyrim racing flying birds, bats and griffins for PC and NPC. Birds have brand new bird heads and head parts (tufts, ears, horns, because why not) with full charge and morphs of expression. Combs and ears show facial expressions. Birds have claws on their hands and feet. They have wings courtesy of Anton's "Animated Wings Ultimate" on Nexus. Birds have secret limbs if you want.

In detail, there is enough variety to create a wide range of birds: crows, eagles, songbirds, parrots, skexis. Bats are leafy and bat foxes.

Claw feet use my adaptation of the high-heel mechanism to get toes if you choose this option. Don't try to put boots on them - the birds will just take them off again.

Details

In this version

  • Ulrie (raven), eagles, griffons, songbirds and talises/vultures. I didn't do anything special with the races, I just gave each one a different set of perks and abilities to give you something to play with.
  • Use racemenu to make your PC look the way you like it. There are a few sliders that do nothing, but most are useful, and some are intuitive. Races have presets that show what you're capable of.
  • Bats!
  • Various feathering of the face. There's a dirt texture that makes your ears dark.
  • The shape of the ears on the mouth. Sorry about that. Maybe I'll make a separate racemenu slider.
  • The eye depth slider changes the size of the eyes from tiny to large. Choose the bat's eyes only if you are using it. (I can't help but let Racemenu show you the eyes of the Kajits.)
  • There are several different skin types: for the nose of a fox and the nose of a leaf, and for the fluffy ears or ears of a large bat. You want to choose a face color that fits your nose.
  • The snout/nose tint is in three places; "Laughter lines" for the muzzle, "eyeliner" for the part around the nose and "nose" for the nose itself. The nose of the leaf is underlining + nose; the nose of the fox is using only the nose, and you'll want the snout and eyeliner to match to cover the whole snout.
  • There is a separate patch for toes. The basic fashion is bird legs, so you can wear boots. I think if you're wearing boots with your toes open, it looks weird. So don't. With the digital patch NPC will take off the boots.
  • NPC file. Upload it to have followers in the form of birds or bats. Adds a flock of birds of each race to different places on Skyrim. Followers of birds fly when you do, and will fight from the air. Find them camp or wait in the tavern to recruit them. Most of them are friendly, so you can just ask one of them to join you. As with races, I didn't try to be really creative, but they have to be adequate followers with a range of abilities. Each camp has a book where you can find detailed information about races and add camp markers to the map. A few birds with wings take up a lot of space, so if you use a mod that adds a bunch of NPCs to hotels, you might find that they're awfully crowded in the evening.
  • Ulrie - A camp in the saddle between the exit of Helgen Cave and the southern gate to Folkrit. In the evening, they go to the Sleeping Giant Hotel.
  • Eagle is a camp southwest of Talmore's embassy. In the evening, relax in the Winking Skeever restaurant.
  • The Griffin is a camp on a rocky ledge on the plain between Vaitran and Roriksted. Evening at the Rorickstead Inn.
  • Songbirds - Camp to the southwest of Folkrit, right across from the mountain range. Evening at Dead Man's Drink.
  • Talis is a camp in the barren lands of Eastmark, south of Kainsgrove. Evening at Braidwood Inn.
  • Bats - Cave south-east of Marcarte. In the afternoon, they walk around Markart, and in the evening gather in the tavern "Chip Blood."
