About This Mod
This mod is primarily designed to save archers from dependence on the skills of blacksmithing. Arrows are now made not in the forge, but on a special workbench, and this skill does not depend on any other skill. Bows and crossbows are created on the same new workbench and instead of the sharpening stone, the bowstring is used.
Except for cheap arrows (outcasts and farmers), all arrows in the game were reworked.
All arrows now have real handles with their own patterns.
The arrows are longer and no longer resting on the wrist.
Arrows now spin in flight.
Arrows now fly faster and farther. Very long-range (sniper) shooting is now possible.
The arrows now penetrate the target deeper. Now they're going into the body, not just through the skin. Different arrows have different penetration powers.
The arrowheads have been redesigned to become more practical. They look the same, but the proportions are close to reality.
Some really ridiculous arrows have been redesigned to look less ridiculous (ebonite, dragon arrows).
The latest update adds six new varieties to Bright Longbow: wormwood, pine, maple, monarch, ebony and oak. Each variety has its own unique appearance and is fully supported by both men and women. All bow ladders are properly fitted, so that even if the bow is longer than the vanilla/gaming bow, it will not bend when the bowstring is tensioned. Each bow is also equipped with original sights that disable the crosshair and allow you to aim.
Production and modernization
Holders of forging skills can make bows and arrows as before, but there is no longer the ability to "sharpen" them with a sharpening stone. Improvements to bows and crossbows are now made by drawing rays on a new bench. Archers can now make sharpened arrows without resorting to blacksmithing. Home-made arrows are slightly less powerful than forged, but cheaper. To make sharpened arrows, you need to buy or find the following materials
- Wood arrow or bolt
- Shaft
- Turnstile
- Feathers
- Advice.
These items can be bought from merchants (especially the Drunken Hunter (Vaitran) and the Archery Master (Solitude)) or collected from defeated enemies.
Not all arrows can be made at once. As the level increases, more powerful arrows become available.
Arrows can also be made on a new workbench.
New workbenches: they can be found in different places, but the main ones are in Drunken Hunter and Onion.
The workbench consists of two parts:
The vice on the right is designed to pull on the bowstring of the bow and crossbow. As your shooting skill improves, you may purchase a bowstring with a higher tension, which increases the damage of your bow. There are two types of bowstring:
- 80 lb.
- 120 pounds.
Tightening the bowstring changes the damage of the bow. For example.
Glass Spring Basic Damage = 15.

120 lb beam on a glass spring. Damage = 25
The more the bow is pulled, the longer it takes for the bow to stabilize. The servicemen are also checking archery technique. The bows are divided into three classes: regular, advanced, and legendary.
Using an 80-pound string with a normal bow requires a 35-shot skill level, and using a 120-pound string with a normal bow requires a -50-shot skill level. Superior bow - 45/60 Legendary bow - 60/75. To avoid overloading the bench menus, new advanced items will appear only when they reach the required level.
There are two ways to improve the crossbow: use a higher-speed beam or a higher-tension beam.
The first method reduces the reloading time and damage, but allows you to quickly pass past the targets. The second method takes longer to implement, but causes much more damage. One shot - one corpse (if not missed).
Both improved methods are performed on the new bench.
The left part of the bench is intended for the feathers of arrows. It is possible to make homemade arrows and bolts from available materials, regardless of the level or skill (except for some high-level arrows, which are discussed below).
Additionally, the Feather Arrow Weaving skill has been added, which allows the user to make arrows anytime, anywhere, if they have the necessary materials. This skill is optional, but if you want to learn it, read the book about the Drunken Hunter's loom.
Skills
Perks added to the tree of shooting skills.
Archery Attack: This skill knocks enemies to the ground in melee, knocking them out of range.
Mystic Archer: This skill has two levels and increases damage dealt (base only, not magic).
Perk compatibility:
If you are using SKYRE (SPERG, Requiem) mods, set Nock to a mod with a higher boot type than these mods. This will cause the mod to rewrite the perk tree yourself, and you will have to buy from the trader a skill book to return the perk Nock to Tip. Skill books are sold only after you have reached the required level of shooting skill.
Animations.
The bow attack animation has been changed. The scope became wider, and the impact - more effective.
Vinskjaer's weapon.
This mod adds two special weapons to the game:
The Bow of Vinskyara is a high-level weapon with a double flame and a triple beam. It has high basic damage but is slowly retrieved.
The Windskjar crossbow has the same characteristics as the bow.
Both weapons are collectible, there is only one weapon in the game, it cannot be bought or manufactured. They need to be located (their location is shown in screenshots).
Special Arrows:
Arrows that deal a lot of damage and can only be made at high skill levels.
Black Arrow is a dragon fighter with explosive effect.
Triple Arrow: Fires three arrows at once. Looks and works great.
Compatibility:
The mod now includes a master .esm file, allowing you to modify the rendering system for bows and crossbows from other mods.
