About This Mod

It is a mod of localization that changes the spelling of in-game texts from American to English (or British, if you like). He also tries to correct most of the text errors present in the base vanilla game (subtitle/voice mismatch, etc.). It covers the base game Skyrim Special Edition, official updates, Dawnguard DLC, Hearthfire DLC, and Dragonborn DLC.

It's not that the version of English spoken in America is wrong, it's just different from the one spoken in England, Australia, and so on.

This mod is a transformation of my original English Strings for Skyrim mod for the new Skyrim Special Edition.

What changes this mod?

------------------------------------

This mod modifies six String files (Skyrim_English.DLSTRINGS, Skyrim_English.ILSTRINGS, Skyrim_English.STRINGS, Update_English.DLSTRINGS, Update_English.ILSTRINGS, Update_English.STRINGS) located in the Data\Strings folder.

It also modifies the file "Translate_ENGLISH.txt", which is located in the folder "Data\Interface". It is from this file that the user interface receives most of its text.

In addition to the changes in the English spelling, there are some minor changes:

* More than 700 small errors in vanilla text were also fixed. These are mostly common typos and spelling errors in the titles of objects, subtitles, quest texts, and books.

* Most gnome items are now called Dwarven rather than gnome items.

* Most races are listed by their own names in the Character Generation menu, rather than by their common names (for example, Altmer instead of High Elf).

* Orcs are still called orcs, as are orc armor, weapons, etc. Only the player's race name was changed to Orsimer's own name.

* The general name "Dark Brotherhood Refuge" is now "Pine Forest Refuge".

* The common stat "Collected Dragon Souls" was renamed "Absorbed Dragon Souls".

* The UI inventory category "Misc" has been changed to "Miscellaneous".

* Rename your armor enchantment: "Fading Fire" is now "Fading Flame".

* Rename your armor enchantment: "Flame Suppression" now "Fire Suppression".

* Rename the enchantment armor: "Conjuring" is now "Conjuration".

* All enchanted items of light imperial armor are now correctly identified as light options to match their unenchanted counterparts.

* Differentiation: Some items of clothing, boots and shoes with common names (bartender, cook, hood, magician, trader, miner, monk, necromancer, regard) have been renamed.

* Differentiation: All hooded robes are now correctly identified as hooded robes (instead of the general "rob").

* Differentiation: Three of the four variants of "Fur Armor" are renamed: "Fur Kilt", "Fur Kilt and Cloak" and "Fur Armor Sleeveless".

* Differentiation: Renamed one of the two sets of the same name "Steel Armor" in "Steel Armor with Paldrones".

* Differentiation: Chests with common names found in the Dtimer ruins are now called Dtimer Chests.

* Differences: Chests with common names from chitin and haurus bones found in the Falmer camps are now called Falmer Chests.

* Differentiation: Four types of embalming tools with the common name "embalming tool" are renamed according to their functions (embalming scalpel, scissors, knife, pick).

* Differentiation: Most common names of bowls, candlesticks, cups, glasses, plates, saucers, pots, urns are slightly renamed according to their manufacture (Glazed, Northern, Silver).

* Rename "Steel boot with shins" to "Steel Nordic boots" as they are a pair to Steel Nordic bracelets.

* Renamed Ancient Nord items to Ancient Nord and Nord Hero items to Nord, as they are simply improved versions of Ancient Nord items. However, in the forge, they are still in the Draugr section.

* Renamed the masks of dragon priests (i.e. "Otar" becomes "Mask of dragon priest Otar").

* Renamed several weapons "Battle Axe" to "Battleaxe" for uniformity.

* Rename multiple "Strong Box" containers to "Strongbox" for consistency.

* Renamed the common "Burned Book" to "Burned Book".

* Geographical names have been added to some quest targets to serve as a quick reminder of where the quest/target is located (mainly for different quests).

* Aldwin is simply named "Black Dragon" when appearing in Helgen, as the player character does not know it is him at the moment.

* The blessing given to the sanctuaries of Talos is now correctly displayed as "The time between shouts is reduced by 20%" instead of "The time between shouts is reduced by 0%".
