About This Mod
Japanese officers were given katana as a symbol of power and status. These swords were mainly used and worn as symbols during the Sino-Japanese and World War II, and were also used in suicide rituals and to carry out Banzai attacks. These swords were valued by American soldiers and often sold at high prices.
At the end of the war, most of them were surrendered to Allied forces. Hiroo Onoda, the last Japanese soldier to surrender (1974), presented one to the President of the Philippines.
