About This Mod
Realistic Torch Mode (1.20.6) is a lightweight mode designed for modpack manufacturers who want to add complexity to early games. The main feature of this mode is that the torches light up after a configurable time, prompting players to switch to a more permanent light source early on.
Features:
Once installed (but not in the rain), the torch should be turned off during manufacture and lit with a craft grating or a flint and steel matchbox. As a result, the player can go through the cave without exploring it safely, without stopping the enemy from spawning, etc. To begin with, take a matchbox.
The torch lights up and goes out after the specified time (default is 60 minutes in real time, it can be changed in the settings). This allows players to search early for a more permanent light source such as lava or glowing stone.
Constantly burning (vanilla) torches can be prepared using crystals of luminous stone instead of charcoal.
Blocks with certain objects (torches, dust blocks from glowing stone, lava buckets, etc.)).) radiate light when held. This feature is disabled by default due to potential performance issues, but can be enabled in Settings.
Torch recipes added by other mods can be used to ensure that matchbox or flint and steel are needed to make a burning torch.
