About This Mod

Canvas Renderer Mod is a rendering library for Fabric mods that offers visual enhancements to players, as well as an API that mod authors can use to implement rendering effects that are not possible with vanilla renderers.

Features:

Hardware and performance requirements:

Canvas targets mid-range and high-end hardware, but should work on any PC that supports OpenGL 2.1

Canvas will almost certainly improve the performance of the download of chunks compared to Vanilla Minecraft. The frame rate may be better or slightly worse, depending on what is rendered.

Current stable options for players:

Faster loading of chunks

Improved lighting

Hardcore darkness (only for terrain)

Less fog

Current stable opportunities for mod authors:

The block models are dynamic, when chunks are rearranged - there is no need to pre-bake all the options

The models of objects are dynamic - there is no need to prepare all the options beforehand

Emission materials

Improved lighting for non-cubic models

Multi-sprite materials for mixed/composite texturing borders and effects

Perfectly manipulate render layer, lighting, shaders, and conditions (see below)

Experimental features (subject to change):

Material Shaders - Mode Authors can define custom shaders for model materials

Conditional materials - materials rendered only when a global condition is met

Apply shaders and radiation effects during object rendering
