About This Mod
I'm a big fan of lordwedggie's War FX fashion, but like many other fans, I'm repelled by the obsessive pillars of black smoke every time I knock down VTOL or step on a tank. This may make fighting in urban areas virtually impossible without the use of thermal fashion and probably affects the FPS on older PCs.
So I put this little tweak into the original files of the game so that it overwrites the files modified by the War FX mod, which create columns of black smoke for the following objects:
- Tanks
- VTOLs
- furs
- Trees
Note that in order for this to work, I also had to overwrite some of the blast files from War FX fashion with vanilla assets. This means that tanks, for example, will not look as cool when they die as War FX fashions. There's nothing perfect!
In general, you get (almost) all the beauty of War FX, but without the extra smog.
Installation
Simply download and unpack the mod to the usual MW5 mods folder, download it above War FX in the order you download it, and everything is ready. You should be warned that this mod replaces some of the War FX content.
