Cursed Scraps
Cursed Scraps is a mod inspired by Strange Objects, revisiting the original concept but with different effects. Special thanks to the author of this different fashion for the original idea that inspired me to create my own version.
Description
Some scraps may turn out to be cursed, offering a more attractive price, but you will have to face this curse until you return to the ship. When you pick up a cursed item, the curse passes to the player, but it does not prevent another player from getting the same curse if he picks up the same item later. The curse remains active until the player returns to the ship, where all curses are removed. Keeping the cursed object on the ship removes the curse, but its price remains the same.
New pills may appear at the level, with the probability of each cursed object being spawned (customizable). Only one pill can be used at a time, and when used, the player is immune to the curse of the NEXT scrap he picks up. However, the scrap will keep its curse, so take the opportunity to return it to the ship! This feature can be disabled.
Custom mechanics are available to hide curses on scraps:
Always - Always hide curses.
Never - Never hide the curse.
Counter - Use the counter to hide curses after a certain number of (adjustable) uncursed items are picked up.
NeverNotNamed - Do not hide that the object is cursed, but hide the curse by changing the name to '???'.
CounterNotNamed - Use the counter to hide the curse after collecting a certain number of (customizable) uncursed items, and always hide the curse by changing its name to '???'.
Curses
Prohibition - prevents the player from jumping and squatting
CONFUSION - swaps the player's movement control and jump/squat keys.
CAPTIVE - prevents all items carried by the player from falling as long as the curse is active.
BLURRY - Reduces the sharpness of the image on the player's camera
MUTE - mute player
DEAFNESS (Deafness) - mutes the player's audio
ERRANT - Random teleportation of a player as he picks up or puts down an item.
PARALYSIS - paralyzes the player during a red scan
SHADOW - All enemies are invisible by default (their sound is still active), scanning detects them
SYNCHRONIZATION - The scrap is split into two parts, where both parts take two different players and their cameras are inverted. You must return both parts to the ship... or die to make the effect disappear.
If a player who does not have a curse picks one of the two parts, he will be immobilized until the other player picks up the other part and the curse takes effect.
If the player dies with the activated effect, the other player returns to his or her chamber, but is immobilized until the other player takes the other part and the curse takes effect
If there is no player to share the curse, the immobilized player can simply throw an item to the ground to move again.
DIMINUTE - reduces the player's size and applies the following effects:
Movement speed decreases
Capture distance decreases
Player's voice changes
Double jumps are possible, which allows you to pass through jumping rooms
Raised items decrease in size but return to their normal size when released.
A normal-sized player can push or crush a smaller player.
EXPLORATION - Prevents the player from entering or exiting the factory through all but one of the doors.
The player can scan the door they have to capture for a certain time (customizes).
The door to be taken changes every time the player enters or exits the factory.
COMMUNICATION - This curse affects two players in two stages:
Phase 1 :
The first player picks up a scrap and is immobilized (in the first stage it is still possible to roll a scrap to undo the curse).
The picked scrap is cloned in a remote location from the player.
The second player closest to the first player is chosen
The first player sees numbers appear in the upper left corner of the screen, indicating the distance between the second player and the second part of the scrap.
The second player must retrieve this second part of the scrap, and the first player can assist the second by using the walkie-talkie to guide them depending on the distance.
Step 2 :
The second player picks up the second part of the scrap and the first player can move again.
A timer for both players appears in the top left corner of the screen. For the first player, the timer replaces the distance shown.
Both players must return two pieces of scrap to the ship before the time expires, otherwise... they're both going to die!
