About This Mod
In this detail set you will find new nuclear thermal rockets for your spacecraft: four new engines, two measuring 2.5 m and two measuring 1.25 m. These engines are fueled with liquid hydrogen and in some cases use an oxidizer to increase the specific pulse. Liquid hydrogen is less dense than liquid fuel, so a larger volume of the tank is required to reach the same delta-V.
For storage of liquid hydrogen fuel, ModuleManager/InterstellarFuelSwitch configurations are provided, which can change the contents of the tank between LF/O, LH2/O, LF, O and LH2. They should work with most of the mod tanks, but you can't promise anything. However, liquid hydrogen is very capricious and gradually evaporates ("boils out") under improper storage. For this reason, I attach a special cryogenic tank to this fashion and use a small charge to stop the evaporation.
This mod is designed to work together with Cryogenic Engine 0.2.0+ and various mods I created on near-future technologies.
