**Cotton haori for humble samurai**
This item of clothing presented here is a haori made of cotton. This was the type of clothing that members of the military class could wear, seeking simplicity and moderation.
Choosing cotton as a material emphasizes the modesty and practicality of the samurai. Cotton is a fabric available, easy to care for and well suited for everyday use.
Haori itself is a short cape worn over a kimono. Its laconic cut and lack of elaborate ornaments indicate a devotion to the busido code. Functionality was important, not exterior pomp.
