About This Mod

Vanilla modifier only; no ESP.

I've never been happy with New Vegas's other eye modifiers - they're caricaturally bright, they've added too many blinding colors, or they're just cluttered.


So I decided to do something similar to the mod for Fallout 4 and remake some textures to suit New Vegas.


It turned out that New Vegas used a completely different texture layout and mesh than Fallout 4, so we had to change the iris of the eye a lot and completely redo the sclera.

We also found that NV doesn't use normal maps at all and doesn't use environment masks for eye textures, so I fixed that by importing Fallout 4 from fashion, I also had to add a new texture path to Nif, so the mesh folder is included here.

The mod includes a complete redesign of all vanilla eye textures. We kept the textures close to the original colors, but added some detail to make the textures more distinct.


All textures are 512x512 size, in vanilla larger than 128x128. The reason they are not larger is that they should not be larger. There is no difference between 512x512 and 1024x1024 in the distance that eye textures look at; there is no need for 4K eye textures; eye textures are not as large as in the vanilla version; and eye textures are not as large as in the vanilla version. This is due to the age of the game. The size of the mesh in question and its relative distance from the player determine the optimal size of the texture for the overall density of texels in the game.

No ENB or reshadding was used.
