About This Mod

SSAO, Focus DOF and Adaptive Bloom added to FONV

SSAO_DOF_AHDR_MOD_1.0


Introduction.


This mode is almost identical to Tapio Schnaars's FNV Enhanced Shaders mode (http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34868).)).

However, there are some differences:


1. SSAO:

Screen Space Ambient Occulsion was created to work with FONV. 2. Changes to DOF


2. changes in DOF:

The focus of depth of field has been changed to match FONV. Iron Sight (as in COD:MW) causes near blur. Further blur occurs only when the focus is on an object in the foreground. In addition, the DOF is very thin, which reduces the blurring of the user interface and strange behavior in the room.


3. adaptive bloom:

The adaptive bloom has been incorporated and modified to fit FONV. In fact, the bloom intensity depends on the brightness of the screen and mimics the adaptation of the eyes.


4. disable palette textures:

This allows the mod to work in conjunction with Darker night mode and not make everything too dark at night. Instead, use fixed color correction. Saturation is significantly reduced for more natural perception.


5. effects txt shader:

It works with everything I've done.


Which is the same?

Both this mod and FNV Enhanced Shaders use a modified D3D9 dll created by Boris Vorontsov (http://enbdev.com/index_en.html).)).

So thank you very much to Boris for creating and distributing the ENB series. Also thanks to Tapio Schnaars for releasing FNV Enhanced Shaders fashion.


Installation.

Extract everything to the FONV installation folder.


Conflicts.

Of course, it conflicts with FNV Enhanced Shaders. This mod is almost the same, only with other shaders and ENB settings.


How to use.

After you install the mod and start the game, all activated effects will work automatically. However, the mod can be disabled at any time in the game:

SHIFT+F12: Disables all mods.


SHIFT+F10: Disables SSAO.


Limitations:


This SSAO system is a hack; it is not close to the driver-level implementation that Nvidia uses in F03. There are therefore several problems.

1. it conflicts with how the engine paints the sky. For some reason it works and looks great, but it's not really recommended. This is because a copy of the character's occult map (PC or NPC) is projected onto the sky when you are next to it or in a third-person view. The environment is working normally. For this reason, SSAO is only available indoors; use SHIFT+F10 to switch.

2. The SSAO accuracy is not satisfactory. Especially in reflected light.

3. SSAO has a significant impact on performance. Again, it should only be used indoors.

4. DOF depends on the focus. The DOF in far vision depends on where the center of the screen is located. In most cases, it works well for objects in the foreground. However, it can be useful, for example, when observing the earth.

5. Near DOF also blurs the bottom of the user interface. This was minimized by retaining the DOF of the iron sight and the DOF of the near sight.


Changes:

Feel free to make changes. If you make a lot of changes and make things better, you can release the mod. If someone shows interest, I will do a little guide to this fashion, but I do not think it is necessary.
