High resolution restoration of the Vanilla magazine.

After several hours of eye strain, I managed to reproduce the New Vegas Skills Log with the original text (in four times resolution compared to the game version).

It was a very tedious process, but I think I was able to accurately reproduce 98% of the text. I know that there are retextures, but some of them deviate from the original, and even in more accurate ones, incorrect text is often found.

Fortunately, the boot-screen versions of the logs and the high-resolution Pip-Boy icons in the BSA helped restore them (the Pip-Boy icons actually have higher resolution than the vanilla-game magazine covers).

Some magazine covers look completely different in the game and on the download screen. Interestingly, the covers of the magazines "Repair" and "Medicine" with stock photos in the game correspond to the Pip-Boy icon with low resolution, and the high resolution version of the Pip-Boy icon corresponds to the custom art on the download screen. We can only assume that these two covers were accidentally delivered with an older version of the BSA, but we only assume.

Q. Why aren't magazine covers larger in texture?

A. If you make the cover in higher resolution, it will stand out too much from other textures. Vanilla is now four times the small texture of the magazine's cover.

A. We did some tests, but the results were unsatisfactory.
