About This Mod

There are many more recipes for making unmodified foods and many more recipes for inedible ingredients such as eggs, flour and animal skins. More recipes, more practicality, a much wider choice of dishes and a more complex diversification, especially when the needs are growing. Designed for compatibility.

Recipe Expansion is a small processing of vanilla food crafting, greatly increasing the variety of dishes in complex games, increasing the availability of early-game food for realism and balance, and making artificially rare items available by adding existing items. Adds dozens and dozens of item recipes.

This fashion has two main goals: To correct the logical gap in the cooking system in FNV and make dishes more realistic and practical. The mod aims to increase the variety of edible items by adding more options to vanilla cooking recipes.

Notable vanilla examples.

Most eggs are useless stones. You can't eat a three-pound lizard egg when you're hungry enough to eat your own shoes. Many types of meat cannot be cooked without special ingredients. There's a great roast of shoes, but you're told to eat it raw because it's not pear. WHAT.

Flour is completely useless, and it is very difficult to get. But it must be a staple food for the people: the NCR is an agrarian society, and wheat production must be important for the Brahmin barons to accumulate economic power.

Harvests from plundering vanilla animals are unreasonably small: a person can die of hunger, killing only ten animals. To fill half the stomach, you need to exterminate the local lizards.

Many recipes that must be shared are blocked behind one item.

Many foods that need to be calorie-rich or even nutritious are not eaten at all. You can starve to death with an inventory full of eggs standing over the three corpses of rackets dressed in animal skins and dragging a death claw and a bag of praying mantis legs.

This mode is designed with extreme compatibility in mind. Instead of editing or adding food, it simply adds or overrides recipes to make it visible to add new food. Typically, conversion occurs with any loss (eg, a meat-converting recipe may require additional water) and is compensated as much as possible.

This is intended to make the use of natural resources more profitable and rational, especially in the face of declining purchasing power. Cities are becoming a luxury, not a necessity, survival is becoming more convenient, and resources are more diverse and important.

Important changes.

* Added more than 130 new recipes for vanilla products and items.

* More than 25 new nutritious recipes with flour as main ingredient.

 * All in-game eggs have been converted into consumables.

* The recipes for caravan lunches and mixtures have been significantly expanded.

* Blowing dry meat from animal skins, grinding food, alternative recipes and cleaning food.

An example of my naming rules is that most food items are marked with "[Food] - [Mojave style]" for sorting.

Recipe category - general food

This mod adds a number of recipes equivalent to meat and general food. In particular, it extends the "Caravan Farm" and "Trail Mixtures", which aim to synergize with the "Immersive Fast Travel Requirements" and Jsawyer.

In addition to increasing the number of meat recipes, the game expanded animal skins to Animal Jerky, allowing them to be replaced by meat in a 2:1 ratio.

Night stalker tails can now be turned into steaks and their eggs can be cooked, a valuable source of food.

In combination with the More Meat / Missing Meats / Simple Meats mods, there is no animal that could not be immediately turned into a full source of food.

Recipe category - Flour

Flour in general has become a very useful food. It is not edible in itself, but is roughly equivalent to -25FOD. Today, flour can be obtained from a variety of sources, but most often in the wasteland you can find pre-war products ground into flour, and insect flesh burned into charcoal and mixed with plants. But edible pre-war flour and fresh wheat, potato, and corn flour are still available, albeit only to the rich or resourceful Mojave survivors.

Recipe category - Eggs

All vanilla eggs can now be cooked directly in the form of irradiated boiled eggs. Ignore the packaging. Different eggs have different proportions. This is a particularly good alternative to omelet from the clutches of death and gives less food and health for simpler craft recipes.

Recipe category - care ingredients

Many relief items can be converted into other relief items without losing resources. Many different items can now be reused in aid recipes. In particular, many tribal recipes have been greatly expanded.

Recipe category - miscellaneous items, weapons and ammunition

Many common objects can now be manufactured or converted in some way. In addition, some rare and limited items at the end of the game can be made for a lot of money. I hid some of these items behind Jury Rigger, Wild Wasteland or both, and I focused fashion itself on the food aspect. With some different visions while editing, some of the recipes are mostly created for the larger The Sink's breakdown recipe in the later game.

Disclosure of spoilers.

In addition, there are several very minor changes in the status of various items, especially flour weights, to compensate for fashion changes.

Q: Do these modes make the game easier?

A: Strictly speaking, yes. In the vanilla variant, this mod will only increase the choice of food and the availability of items, which will make the game easier. However, this mode is intended to be used in conjunction with modules such as Famine, Hunger Rate Increase, Economy Mode, DUST, and IMCN. Moreover, this increased versatility often comes at a price - for example, many clean-food recipes require excess water, and some items can be produced at a loss. Think of it as a reverse TTW logic - TTW is made "harder" than Fallout 3, but that's because you have more tools at your disposal and the world is set up to make up for your buffs. It offers the player more opportunities to adjust to the increased complexity that may be required in today's environment. You no longer need to kill 16 geckos to make three steaks.

Q: Is this mod a copy of other mods?

A: No, there are other fashions that do what I do: simple meat dishes, caravan food recipes, etc. But as far as I know, no mod tries to base this system entirely on expanding vanilla food production.

I don't plan to add consumables to this mod, I just want to expand the way I make vanilla consumables.

Q: This... ... compatible with ...?

A: We do not know why it is not compatible. I think the worst-case compatibility scenario is random recipe duplication. And I don’t know of any fashion that adds ingredients that would upset the balance of the new craft cycle.

Q: So the mod is balanced around such rigid mods as Scarcity and adjustable need factors?

A: Yes. The mod fits well with older mods such as "Hunger" and "Adjustable Needs Ratio", or with the more complex "Needs" of DUST and Imp.

Additional file - NVSE add-on to increase the presence of decorations in the list of leveling.

Eat black molasses and wheat germ bread,

You will live so long that you will want to die.

Add yogurt and you get a nutritious product,

Bread made from black molasses and wheat grains.

Now I was thinner than a pencil line,

I didn't have any muscles or spine.

But now I'm healthier than a puppy,

All you have to do is support me.
