About This Mod

Significantly reworked the lighting strip in the style of the intro-cinema: a number of new lights were added, the colors of the lighting strip were changed and the brightness was adjusted to fully light the strip without updating the ambient lighting. Support for major band modifications including Simple Clear Lane, Lane 2023, and Bright Light.

Inspired by Fallout New Vegas's introductory cinematography, this mod significantly recycles lane lighting to match the brightness, hue, and extensive light sources introduced in the cinematography to support the overhaul of lanes.

There are two versions of this fashion, one for vanilla door strips and the other for simple open strips. The focus is on the design and screenshots for Strip 2023 Lite, which is a relatively easy, faithful and holistic update of the strips and, in my opinion, most accurately displays the introductory videos. I recommend this mod instead of the others when using Strip 2023 Lite, as it supports Strip 2023 (non-light version) and LightBright, as well as additional patches for Lux Aeterna and New Vegas Reloaded.

To make the mod work, follow the installation procedure below.

Features.

- New street lights that directly illuminate almost the entire lane.

- Repainting of most standard lantern lamps to match the appearance of the Intro.

- Additional lights for large light emitters such as Ultra Luxe signs, station lights, Lucky 38 lamps and various planters.

- Light for main light sources such as doors Tops and Gomorrah, emitters Tops, etc.

- Additional new fixtures, e.g. Embassy street lights, station entrance lights/monorail.

- Tops and Gomorrah emissaries are configured to better support extended lighting modes, fix alpha channel issues, and bring light colors closer to input ones.

- Supported revisions and improvements including reduced FPS costs, re-activation of Lightbright lamps and new lamps/sources for 2023

- Integrated Afterglow support including Afterglow light radius adjustment, dual light avoidance and light restriction accounting.

- Improved band/light texture effects to improve radiation balance with NVR.

- Reduced frame rate to reflect the cost of working on the strips.

Requirements.

- Improved lighting shaders (otherwise the terrain will seem floating).

- Standard bug fixes and mods required for normal operation of this mod.

- Need to rebuild the LOD region of the world tape; it is highly recommended to follow the Viva New Vegas LOD manual. Avoid strangely placed objects.

Highly recommended.

- Simple Open Ribbon (developed on the basis of Simple Open Ribbon instead of vanilla to recreate the aesthetics of intro-cinema).

- Afterglow - Neon Lighting (supported; use a non-JIP version. Additional lighting improvements for neon signs, ultra-suite, monorail stations and various other improvements).

Patches included.

- Strip 2023 Lite (recommended over other revisions for performance and compatibility. Affects only the band)

- Strip 2023 (no backlight/full), (heavier and touches more cells, but supported)

- LightBright Ribbon Revision (simple open version is used. Performance is lower, but affects more cells)

- Lux Aeterna - An Ultra Luxury Overhaul (tweaks + adding lighting, very harmonious mode)

- New Vegas Reloaded (Tonemapping/Bloom NIC)

Loading Sequence (ignore it and cook)

Most importantly, all Strip Cinematic Lighting Overhaul add-ons must be installed after the Strip Overhaul mod. SCLO must also be installed after Strip MOD in order to install MO2.

Example:

- FalloutNV.esm + DLCs

- YUP, FPGE, etc. Essential Fashions. - Simple open tapes (if used, recommended)

- Revise lanes here (if used)

- Strip Cinematic Lighting Overhaul (SCLO)

- Strip Cinematic Lighting Overhaul - your Strip Overhaul mod compatible patch (2023, LightBright, etc.)

- Other ESM.

- Strip Cinematic Lighting Overhaul - Lux Aeterna patch (if used)

- All other ECMs

- Afterglow - Neon Lighting (highly recommended)

- Afterglow - Monorail Lights Patch (if you are using this patch or have The Strip 2023)

- Strip Light Zone Correction or other mode of overriding zones/imposters (e.g. L38).

- Your weather mode is here, at the end of the order, followed by a patch for that mode, if available.

Compatibility.

This mod applies only to the world area of the band and does not affect other areas of the world, internal cells, etc. The mode changes the color patterns used in the lane and adjusts the corresponding mode accordingly, avoiding problems with limiting light to terrain shaders. Overrides anything that adds light to the bar. Consider placement and trimming for modifications not listed here.

Overlaps with other revisions of lane lighting.

Recommended mods.

- The Viva New Vegas (The Basics of Playing Fallout New Vegas) manual also lists Wabbajack, which is a great place to start working with mods for FNV. If you've already started, check it out here.

- New Vegas Reloaded replaces the old 2024 ENB in the FNV with a tone mupper that eliminates significant shaders and discoloration.

- Natural desert weather as well as neutral weather (used in screenshots) if you use New Vegas Reloaded (NVR).

- New Vegas Visual Refresh for textures/models if you have a higher-end PC (used in screenshots).

- If you are using Lucky 38 Exterior Remastered, use the supported Real version of Lucky 38 Exterior Remastered - Compatibility Edition, which has fewer problems and supports Strip Lights Region Correction. Time Reflections and New Vegas Reloaded are supported.
