About This Mod

Weapon Mods Remastered: This expansion completes the concept of mid-level weapon mods New Vegas. Each weapon can now be modified in three different modes, most unique weapons can be modified, and most melee weapons can be modified.

Over 120 new weapons mods will be added to the game, making melee weapons and unique weapons models. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Note: Please read this before installing. Attention. Moving .esp files to the Data folder without instructions can severely damage your computer.

1.) General information

======================================

This expansion is intended to end New Vegas's negligent weapons-mode concept, which Obsidian did not spend much effort on, and to expand the gameplay of weapons-mode gameplay. In fact, we haven't done much for the "concept" of the weapons mode, I think we'll leave it to experienced modders using the NVSE or something like that. The problem with this game is not the concept itself, but the fact that the developers do not seem to want to see it through. That's why I did it, and I won't let the developers get away with it.

2.) Additional information

=======================================

So, what does this add-on actually do? In a nutshell, it adds a usable weapon mode to the game. A lot. In effect, it gives you the ability to modify your weapons. However, this can be done even in the vanilla game. The game features three weapons, which can be fitted with sights and silencers. There weren't many others.

This add-on makes almost all weapons in the game fully customizable. This means that weapons can have up to three different modifications (at least for simple modders like me, it is no longer three). These can be sights, silencers, various types of slicing, lightweight components to make weapons less heavy, or titanium components to increase the strength of weapons. Or have you ever thought of installing a high pressure valve on a flamethrower to increase its range? Then you should definitely think about it. If you don't like flamethrowers, try installing special grips that increase the rate of fire of your .357 revolver.

You will also find weapon fashions that can really be used. You can find quite a few weapon mods in random containers across the wasteland, during looting from enemies, or in stores across the wasteland. If you still haven't found what you're looking for, check out the new gun mod retailer at Gun Runner.

The weapon mod kits are priced accordingly: the BB bullet sight costs about 100 caps, and the rapid-fire engine for the backpack grenade launcher costs more than 1,000 caps. Buying a whole palette of mods for your favorite weapon can cost as much as buying a new weapon. Note that without this addition, most weapon mods are sold for about 300-500 covers. The newly added Fat Man Exhaust Intensifier exhaust amplifier costs over 2,000 caps.

I'll explain how much it cost: there were 50 different weapon mods in the vanilla. In addition, most unique weapons (such as 9mm SMG and Vance 9mm SMG) could not be modified at all. With this addition, up to 190 weapons mods will be added to your game, which of course can be applied to unique weapons. Including about 40 brand new mods for melee weapons. For more information on the new content, be sure to check out the Weapon Mods Reorganised - A Customer's Guide.pdf (ee, pdf) included in the download.

Due to GECK restrictions (which are likely to be fixed in the NVSE), it is currently impossible to create mods for grenades and mines (e.g. radioactive detonators), as well as sights (e.g. Tele Zoom Enhancer). We'll add it later if someone else makes it possible.

There is another important caveat:

The only downside to this addition is that the new weapon mode does not change the weapon model. This means that if you attach a sight to a weapon, you can look through it, but when you look at the weapon, there will be no sight. The same applies to silencers and elongated stores. In some cases, the stores look the same as before. However, the size of the store is still increasing. All silencers shut down the weapon, but on some weapons the silencer is not visible. This is because I have no idea how to work with NifSkope and other programs. If someone wants to help me with this addon, feel free to use it and add new models to the modified weapon to make this addon even better.

3.) Known errors, problems and incompatibilities:

========================================================

I can't see. I do not consider it a beta version or anything like that, this plugin is ready to use and works with any system and any game. At least I should. If you encounter any (very unlikely) errors or problems, please report them in the comments section or write to the LAN as you will be comfortable.

This mod is intended for use in vanilla games. Therefore, if you use addons like FOOK, these weapon modes may be overly strong/underpowered in your game. Additionally, this addon modifies some level lists to allow new items to enter the world. This may cause problems (but probably will not).

Otherwise, this addon must work with almost all addons in the world. Only beware of plugins that change some types of vanilla weapons or weapon mods. If you use such plugins, consider installing Weapon Mods Reworked after other plugins, preferably at the end of the installation sequence. In most cases, however, this is not necessary.

Another thing is that this addon makes almost all vanilla weapons modifiable. Whether it's FOOK or other addons, the newly added weapons won't be touched by "Weapon Mods Reworked".

==============================================================================

4.) Install and uninstall (you won't want to):

==============================================================================

It's simple. Simply place the 'Weapon Mods Reworked.esp' file in the data folder and activate the add-on from the 'Data Files' in New Vegas Launcher. If you're using the legendary New Vegas mod manager and have problems, you can put this add-on at the end of the install order. But this is not necessary.

To remove an add-on, simply delete the files from the data folder. It couldn't be easier.

This is the first and hopefully the latest version of this plugin. If there have been any changes (and there will be none), you can read about them here.
