About This Mod

Adds a customizable HUD panel that displays time, date, radiation level, limb and armor status, number of targets, temperature, heat index, dew point, relative humidity, and speed display. Requires Ambient Temperature.esm to display weather data as well as .esp outside Ambient Temperature; requires NVSE.

Support for the Unified HUD project.

UHP is a utility developed by Gopher that simplifies the installation of mods that modify HUDs like this one. Currently, four of my mods are supported by this program. It is not required, but if the HUD Extended installation procedure is too cumbersome, use UHP.

Get started.

************

Beta 3 HUD Extended includes two versions of the main .esp:

HUD Extended.esp displays on HUD the date, time, speedometer, radiation counter, limb and armor indicators, and threat counter and requires only the NVSE (although it is strongly recommended to use DarN UI). Each of these items can be disabled in the configuration menu accessible via the '*' key. Each mark on the radiation counter indicates 100 rads and increments clockwise. Armor and limbs are represented by eight indicators in the form of vertical stripes. Two thick indicators show the state of the armor and helmet, and the rest - the state of the limbs, torso and head (they should be located quite intuitively). The Threat Indicator becomes visible when the player enters a battle, and the number in the center indicates the total number of attacking targets.

HUD Extended - Ambient Temperature.esp displays temperature, heat index, dew point and relative humidity in addition to the above points, but mainly requires Ambient Temperature.esm. Again, each item of information can be disabled individually in the configuration menu.

If you only want date and time, just use the first .esp, and there's no need to load other modes.

To get the HUD as shown in the screenshot, you need to install the NVSE (required) and five mods:

HUD Extended (here it is).

Displays time, date, temperature, heat index, dew point, relative humidity, and speed.

To properly display the HUD in the screenshot, you must set the NVSE (required) and 5 modes: HUD Extended (this) Display time, date, temperature, heat index, dew point, relative humidity and speed:

HUD Extended (this).

Displays time, date, temperature, heat index, dew point, relative humidity, and speed.

Ambient temperature.

Provides weather statistics that are displayed by HUD Extended. In fact, it is the only change that is required. In the future, a separate version of HUD Extended may be created that will display only the date, time, and speed, but for now Ambient Temperature.esm is the basic requirement. Ambient Temperature calculates the temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and heat index using the weather statistics for the Las Vegas area and the current date and time.

Heavy armor.

It is part of the power armor upgrade and part of the Weapon Mod Kit power armor kit. The Guardian's Icon in Power Armor with ambient temperature and power status (actually makes sense and is not just a piece of jewelry).

The complex needs of impas.

This is a complete processing of the hunger/thirst/sleep system in Hardcore mode, which was originally a requirement mode for FO3. Adds a bank of food stats.

DarNified UI for DarN.

Not strictly necessary, but highly recommended: DUI adds a special font shown in the screenshot. Indicators will be displayed without it, but they will be slightly less compact. If the DUI continues to evolve, it will probably offer its own date/time display and the same useful statistics as the Fallout 3 version.

The reason for listing all these mods is that in the screenshots we used when we first released Enhanced Power Armour for the Fallout 3, in addition to Enhanced Power Armour HUD used DUI F3 Extras and IMCN HUD because it showed a large HUD. "How do I make my HUD look the same?" - was one of the most frequently asked questions.

In-game settings

**********************

When you start a new game or install a new game, HUD Extended appears in the center left corner of the screen. To change the position, press and hold the '*' key on the numeric keypad until the rest of the HUD disappears. Then press and hold "*" and use the arrow keys. Press * to open the configuration menu. You can show/hide each statistic and select metric/standard units.

Installation.

*************

Please install the NVSE first:

http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/nvse_1_beta6.zip

This was developed in the NVSE version 1 beta 5, tested in version 1 beta 6 and should be compatible with future versions; note that the NVSE is still in beta and is not guaranteed to be error free.

If you are using DUI, you must install it before you install HUD Extended.

If you plan to use HUD Extended - Ambient Temperature, install Ambient Temperature (see download link above).

Install HUD Extended:

1. open the .7z file and drag its contents into the data directory.

2. locate the datamenus_hud_main_menu.xml file.

3a. if it exists, open it and scroll to the bottom.

4a. add a line just above the last line (</menu>):

<include src="HUDE\HUD_E.xml"/>.

5a. Save and close the file.

or

3b. if there is no file, copy the version found in datamenusprefabs to this location.

Finally, add the HUD Extended.esp or HUD Extended - Ambient Temperatuer.esp files to the installation sequence somewhere after the Ambient Temperature.esm file.

Another thing: if you install a mod that will overwrite the hud_main_menu.xml file later, it will overwrite your changes and your HUD will be lost (that's why DUI should be installed before HUD Extended, not after (that's why DUI should be installed before, not after HUD Extended). To correct this, repeat steps 2-5a.

Uninstall.

**********

Open hud_main_menu.xml and remove the added strings: HUD Extended.esp (or HUD Extended - Ambient Temperatuer.esp) and datamenus\prefabs\HUDE.esp (or HUD Extended - Ambient Temperatuer.esp) remove.
