About This Mod

I'm sorry. My life has kept me from playing and modding for almost a year now, and it probably will continue to do so. In this regard, I am providing

carte blanche to any modder to use any of my resources

mods for their own creations. Just specify the credit and link to the original mod. In terms of permissions, most of my mods are extensions of works made by other people. You will need their permission to use any resources in my mods that were originally created by others. Enjoy, and keep up the love of modding.

Can I fix this crap bridge? Yes.

Can I fix these bad vanilla bridge textures? Yes.

Can I fix this crap bridge and fix these bad vanilla bridge textures? Yes... but to do this, you need to do a couple more steps.

It's a simple little fashion that I've made for myself, and it's not even quite fashion. Like many, I've had enough of rebuilding different versions of the Asylum while remaining with the same bombed-out bridge, and I've gone looking for other options. Like many, I found NovaCoru's Repaired Sanctuary Bridge and told YES PLEASE - > to the game. And like many who were looking for a better bridge, I found Jesters Better Wooden Bridges, and again came YES PLEASE, new textures, yes!

But, in despair, incompatible. The pre-war bridge bag uses different textures. ... so... Shoot's texture substitutes for the post-war bridge were not displayed on the repaired bridge. After some research, I discovered that I could manually rename the new Shoot textures to replace the pre-war bridge textures. I even published the instructions in the comments to the Nova fashion "Repaired Bridge Shelter" for those who wanted to use these two mods together, and then went and followed their own instructions and combined the Nova and Jaster mods in their own game.

What did it do?

Here I propose two things.

1. Simple mod that will allow you to use the refurbished Bridge Shelter with improved wood textures. For those who, like me, mostly can't do it themselves. Seriously - why, if it's already done by someone else, and you can get more fun from the game.

**This mod is literally nothing but a combination of Nova and Jester's mods (used with open and full resolution respectively) with my only add-on - renaming texture files for a replaced bridge to make the mods play well together.**

Installation instructions

Install a mod, preferably using an NMM (or other mod manager), so if it doesn't work, or you hate it, or something else

it'll go wrong, it'll be easier to fix.

Although they are not required for the operation of this fashion, if you like what my mod does, you must go and approve the original mods from NovaCoru & Jester.

As with the original Nova's Repaired Sanctuary Bridge Mod mod, you will need to add "bUseCombinedObjects=0" to the Fallout4.ini file (under General).

Without this line, a repaired bridge does not appear in Fallout4.ini. Please read the Nova's Repaired Sanctuary Bridge fashion comment thread for details and possible issues with adding this line (I don't want to duplicate this discussion thread here).

**FYI, I don't have this line in Fallout4.ini.* WHY?

I use Spring Cleaning mod, which splits the nets in the Shelter settlement, eliminating the need to edit ini (thanks to user Nexus Lateralis for pointing it out in Nova's comments).

Personally, I like Spring Cleaning, but you can choose any option. Without this mode you will need to add "bUseCombinedObjects=0" to the Fallout4.ini file.

If you don't need my mod, you can do it yourself.

2. Do it yourself instructions for those who prefer to learn how to play with files themselves. Believe me, it can be fun - in the sense that you'll hit your head on the keyboard, shout a lot, and then experience a slight sense of joy when it all works out - but it's easy to play with this fashion.

My [annotated] instructions before I made this mod (originally posted @ 13:49, 29 Jan 2016) . . .

I think the problem is that the replaced mesh (pre-war) causes the pre-war bridge textures [edit - it is, bastard bridge], which are different from the post-war textures that you're trying to use [edit - they do]. Because the mesh of the post-war bridge isn't there [edit - because the hell we moved it, it was crap, you've all seen it], the new post-war textures [well, you know, the best ones from Jester] aren't called/referenced/used. If you look at the FO4 texture files, the basic texture files for the two bridges are the same (except for color), but have different names [why use the same file name if you can use two?]. You can work around this by renaming bridge textures [edit - can]

Don't you trust me? Try it. Wouldn't it be awful if I was suddenly mistaken? I'd laugh, but I'm not sure others will.
