About This Mod

I like to play secretly, but it looks a bit ridiculous when a bad guy doesn't see me shooting him in the face from 4 feet away in broad daylight. This mod reduces the benefits of the Perk "Stealth" and comes with a separate mod that again includes mines/traps on the floor. Includes a set with high nerf levels, which reduces the benefits of vanilla perches by half, and a middle set with lower nerf levels - see the table below.



SneakPerkNerf[level]MinesTraps.esp - this additional file re-includes mines and traps on the floor, should be used with SneakPerkNerf[level].esp. So, if you want to have your trick loosened and traps re-enabled, you will need to use TWO files. Make sure you are using traps with the same level as the desired trick reduction.

SneakPerkNerfMinesTrapsONLY.esp - use this file if you want to enable traps, but do not use SneakPerkNerf.

SneakPerkNerf.esp - sneak pear has two factors: sneak skill multiplier (higher - better) and motion detection multiplier (lower - better):

The middle set will allow you to move around freely, take a favorable position and destroy a few bad guys until the rest catch up. The middle set of 'v2' has the same motion detection values as the vanilla set, and so will allow you to slip away more easily if someone notices you (this is probably the best choice for those who just want to eliminate more blatantly unrealistic encounters). A high level will allow bad guys to see you move around as if they have eyes in their head, and will probably have a pretty big impact on your playing style.


Note: companions use the same perks, so will also become more visible. Use Companion Sneak to resolve this issue.




Installation: Select .esp for the desired nerve level and the associated MinesTraps .esp if you want mines/traps to be enabled again (otherwise do not use it). Make sure that SneakPerkNerfMinesTraps.esp is AFTER SneakPerkNerf.esp in the boot order. Put after other mods that affect the perks.


Important: If you are using an NMM, it will probably try to activate all esps, so make sure you deactivate those that are not using. The FOMOD version will prompt you to select a package. Thanks to CRAZYJACKAL for setting up.
