The best settlers

THIS APPLIES ONLY TO COMMON SETTLERS. Companions, children and registered settlers (e.g. Long and Finch) remain unchanged, they will be equipped and behave as they do in vanilla.

There are several files.

Main File

Clean/Dirty Face Pack.

Mortal Pack (and subpatches) OPTIONAL (as in my Mod fashion: Mortal Settlers). My preferred way of playing. Makes the game harder. Make your settlers so that they can die in NPC raids (they can't die from raiders right now, unless you accidentally kill them). Think before you choose this option. I made the settlers more resilient, but they can still die quite easily (2 grenades per survival). Spam missile turrets are not welcome :). 

Heavy Armor Only Pack OPTIONAL (only settlers with III and IV class equipment will sleep).

Light Armor Only Pack OPTIONAL (only equipment of I and II classes will sleep). This is probably the most history-friendly option.

Only Women Settlers Package OPTION. Must do what is written. New settlers must be mostly female or male, depending on your choice.

Settler Raider Pack OPTION. It replaces settlers' faces and equipment with raiders' faces and equipment. EXPERIMENTAL.

Community Clothing and Armor Pack OPTIONAL. See Readme for details and required files. DO NOT INSTALL UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

Are there compatibility issues?

This mod will conflict with any mods that change the statistics of settlers or their lists of levels.  

If you have errors, corrections, suggestions, etc., please write in the comments and I will try to eliminate them.

Installation

Make sure that you have completed all the necessary settings to enable mods in Fallout 4.

I strongly recommend installing mods through Nexus Mod Manager. The installation wizard will guide you through all the steps, and this minimizes the likelihood of future errors. 

With Nexus Mod Manager (NMM):

1. Download mod by clicking "Download with manager".

2. Activate mod in Nexus Mod Manager.

If you use Mortal, Heavy or Light Armor Patch, Raider, Female or Community Clothing Patches patches, they must go after "Better Settlers" in your boot order, otherwise the mod will not work.

Uninstall

With Nexus Mod Manager (NMM):

1. Deactivate the mod by double-clicking on it.

2. Mark the deactivated mod and remove it or uninstall it.

3. When uninstalling the fashion, players will be deprived of the equipment they have been given and may have several (0) items in their inventory. This is a game feature, not a bug. In addition to being annoying, it is only cosmetic and will not harm your game.
