About This Mod

Settlement Keywords Expanded is a continuation of the Stuyk structure. SKE is a resource for fashion designers that provides an alternative to adding items to the Bethesda vanilla menu. With the help of SKE, mod authors get more opportunities to choose the subjects of settlement. More choices mean less clutter in the settlements menu.


The SettlementKeywords.esm file provided will work with some SK mods. This mod does not change any of the vanilla menus, so it will not conflict with DLC. The lack of vanilla menus can only be caused by outdated menu patches or outdated SK mods that have not been updated. A list of mods that should not be used with SKEs is given below.


Fallout 4 patch 1.6.3 or higher is required!

Starting with SKE 1.46, I offer a scripting menu. You can choose either a version that changes the settlement record directly, as in previous SKE versions, or a version that adds the SKE menu using the Papyrus script. If you have selected a scripting menu option and plan to uninstall SKE, be sure to create and use uninstall chemistry to remove the scripting menu properties from your save.


Starting with SKE 1.51, chemical menus have been added to the scripting menu. They will add a single SKE menu, as in the previous version, and a multi-menu, as in DOOMBASED with SKI.


DLC Compatibility

SKE is compatible with all DLCs, including Nuka-World.


Fashion Authors

Stuck has made a Google document on how to use this in your mods. Like Stike, I also recommend that you do not create new form lists, form IDs, keywords, or modify menus.


Fashion users

--------------------

SKE may be required as a resource for the mode you are using. Check the Authors page to see if a patch is needed or available. If the patch is not available, you will need to create it using FO4Edit. To learn how to create conflict resolution and resolution patches, you can download the xEdit tutorial (meaning all versions) here. It is written in draft and was originally intended for FO3/FNV, but the user interface of FO4Edit is the same, so you can use it to create patches. How to resolve conflicts is discussed in section 4.


Installation

--------------------


SKE does not require any DLC content. SKE is a fully independent mode and does not require users to install SK by Stuyk. SKE patches require the installation of the original fashion. Download and install the original mod and overwrite the old ESM or ESP file with the one I provide. The original mod provides all the scripts, meshes, textures and everything else that the mod needs. I only provide plug-in files for replacement.


Uninstall

--------------------


If you have selected a SKE version that adds a SKE menu using a script, be sure to create and use the chemistry before you remove it manually or using NMM. Another version of SKE that does not use the papyrus script to add a menu does not require chemistry.
