About This Mod

- DEF_INV contains KeyNuker, so you no longer need to install it, but you can still approve lyravega

This is the repackaging and re-release of the DEF_INV and DEF_HUD mods from Neanka (with the permission of Neanka) with the new consolidated installer. At the moment these are the latest versions released by Neanka and they are provided as is. Please see the notes below regarding mod support.

DEF_HUD

---------------------

HUD, or Head's Up Display, refers to the main game interface during adventures. HUD elements include HP, AP, Crete, XP, and enemy HP counters, compass, dialogs, and messages. This mod allows you to customize all of these items. You can move, rotate, and resize all items as you like. Some elements can also be configured, such as hiding part of an element (for example, the HP label on the HP counter).

There is also an additional possibility to show the components of the scrap under objects during robbery. This feature requires either the included scrap tags file or a similar file from your sort mode (such as VIS). If you are using an included scrap tagged file, it cancels all mods that change scrap objects (weight, components, names, etc.).

This mod will conflict with any other mods that modify the interface, such as MyHUD or Pleasant UI, but all the features provided by these mods can be duplicated (and even more) using DEF_HUD.

DEF_INV

----------------------

DEF_INV changes the interface of the container, barter and pipboy inventory screens with numerous improvements. Container and barter screens have been increased in size to fill the entire screen. All other functions require a sort mode:

- Sorting labels can be replaced with icons in all three screens.

- New tabs have been added to the Container and Bartter screens to allow you to restrict what is displayed by category based on tags.

- Pipboy has added additional tabs to move notes and holocassettes to their own tag-based tabs.

- Pipboy items can be collapsed into a single record based on tags (for example, all keys are collected into a single Key Ring record, which can be expanded as needed).

Sort mods

----------------------

Since most DEF_INV functions require a sort mode, here are some suggestions for known DEF_INV-compatible sort modes:

Valdacil's Item Sorting by Valdacil

Better Item Sorting by xandarori

Bhaal's Better Sorting by SystemLordBhaal

German item sorting from messiahgov (Replaced by German item sorting from CelloFO4)

Realistically Weightless Colored Sorting Mod by Zenotep Mod (Get configuration files from this mode)

Installation

----------------------

Pre-installation: Follow this guide to prepare your game for installing mods. (This is required regardless of the NMM or manual installation).

There are a lot of options, so I can't help but emphasize:

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU INSTALL THE GAME THROUGH A MOD MANAGER that works with Mod installers (e.g. Vortex)!!!!.

If you decide to try a manual installation, your mileage will be different, and I can not guarantee success. Because

so many things you can mix up during the installation process, don't even try to ask for help if you

if you did not use FOMOD setup... I can't read your thoughts to understand what you did wrong.

With Vortex: Download with Manager and activate. Vortex will prompt you to select the desired option.

No Vortex: Download the file. Then use your favorite .7z, .zip, .rar to open the archive:

1) Extract the interface folder into your game's Data folder (usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\data).

2) If you need DEF_HUD (if not, go to DEF_INV below):

2a) Open the HUD folder in the archive.

2b) If you are using HUDFramework (or plan to), open the HUDFramework folder, otherwise open the Standalone folder.

2c) Open the folder for the appropriate screen resolution (for example, 16x9) and extract the folder with the interface to the Data folder of your game.

2d) If you need scrap components: extract the appropriate def_inv_scrap_xx.esp file from your HUD folder into your game's Data folder and activate it like any other .esp.

2e) If you have also installed DEF_INV, go to Step 3.

2f) If you did not install DEV_INV, go to INV\common\interface\DEF_CONF in the archive and extract DEV_INV.xml to the Data\interface\DEF_CONF folder of your game.

2g) If you do not install DEV_INV, go to INV\lang in the archive. Switch to your game language. Extract the interface folder into your game's Data folder.

2h) If you do not install DEV_INV, and

3) If you want to install DEF_INV:

3a) Within the archive, navigate to the root and open the INV folder.

3b) Open the common folder and extract the interface folder into your game's Data folder.

3c) Go back to the INV folder, then to the resolutions folder.

3d) Open the screen resolution folder and extract the interface folder into the Game Data folder.

3e) Go back to INV folder, then to lang folder

3f) Open the appropriate language folder

3g) Unzip the interface folder into the Game Data folder.

3h) If you already have .xml files from your sort mode (e.g. VIS), then you can skip the next couple of steps.

3i) If you do not have a sort mode, open the vanilla folder and extract the interface folder into the Game Data folder.

3j) If you are using a sort mode and do not already have any DEF_INV .xml files, open the sort mode folder in the language folder and extract the interface folder to the Game Data folder.

Configure HUD

------------------------

The default setting is to set the vanilla configuration to HUD. You can also download presets that other users

that other users have set up and shared on Nexus. If you want to customize your HUD:

1) Open your game's Data folder and navigate to Data\interface.

2) Run HUDMenuSet.exe

3) Adjust the HUD settings. Instructions can be found inside the utility.

4) After the configuration is complete, press CTRL+S and save the file as Data\interface\DEF_CONF\DEF_HUD.xml.

5) Exit and play the game.

Configure INV Options

------------------------

The default installation will set the default DEF_INV options. If you want to configure DEF_INV behavior (i.e.

replacing tags/icons, font size, etc.):

1) Open your game's Data folder and navigate to Data\interface.

2) Run Settings.exe

3) Configure INV settings.

4) After the configuration is complete, press CTRL+S and save the file as Data\interface\DEF_CONF\DEF_INV.xml

5) Exit and play the game.

Compatibility

------------------------

- Game update 1.7.x required

- DEF_HUD will conflict with any mods that modify the HUD, such as MyHUD, Pleasant UI or HUDFramework.

- HUDFramework compatibility can be achieved by using HUDFramework Autopatcher to merge DEF_UI and HUDFramework.

- Merged copies from HUDFramework 1.0f are included in the provided archive (see instructions above).

- An additional scrap component file will conflict with any mod that changes the scrap (weight, names, components, etc.)

- DEF_INV will conflict with Key Nuker (but similar functionality is built into DEF_INV, which makes Key Nuker unnecessary)
