About This Mod
This is a simple .exe file that creates a backup of the save file with the name and current date and time in the default folder for ER saves and automatically starts the game.
Purpose.
The purpose of this .exe file is to make a backup copy of the save every time you open the game. Thus, if in the future the save is lost (endless loading screen, damage, ...), you will lose a maximum of one day (instead of creating a completely new character).
Use.
You can place this .exe file anywhere and start the game using it instead of the previous method. If you want to open the game without creating a backup, start it without this executable (for example, via steam).
Requirements.
This program has been tested only on Windows and should only work properly if the game is installed on Steam.
As you can see from the source code (next theme), the program assumes that the game and save information is stored on drive C:, so those who use another drive to store games and saves may have problems.
Generation and Source Code
The script was originally written in Python, and then an initial version of the .exe file was created using PyInstaller, but due to the large number of false positives in the total number of viruses, it was decided to translate the script into C and compile it to create a new and improved executable to create a new and improved executable.
This is open source, which can be found on GitHub.
If you want, you can also download and use the original Python script on Nexus (but only if you have Python installed on your machine).
