About This Mod

Because CDPR's HT/SMT patch seems to work only for Intel processors (Intel has no HT problem) and Ryzen processors with 6 (physical) cores.

With this "hack" my Ryzen 7 3700X was used at 95%, without it - at most 75%.

The CDPR claims to have fixed an SMT issue with Ryzen processors, but it does not appear to be the case. I've been playing this game for a long time and have modified it a lot since its release, and at one point I noticed that since version 2.0, my CPU has not been used by more than 75%, so I started searching and researching. Since the expected patch from CDPR with patch 2.11 did not change anything for me (and by the way, patch 2.12 did not change either), I searched the Internet and conducted my own research and found SMT patch for earlier versions of the game. But since the described "sequence" does not occur in the new exe-files, I searched for similar ones and found exactly the same, only slightly modified (with the help of another Nexus user). They differ only in one part of the code and only in one digit (2D and 3D). After using SMT Fix, I noticed that the CPU utilization could increase if needed. I tested this carefully and observed it in detail (by swapping the .exe file with the original several times and playing the game for several hours, observing the CPU usage). In my case with "my processor", this is not a placebo, because I can visually and visibly observe better response behavior and better load sharing on the cores of my processor.

The "hack" described is not dangerous and does not cause any damage to Windows, your hardware, the game or your storage. The worst thing that can happen is that it just won't work for you or you just won't notice any difference (depends on the processor, I think).

As a download, I provide a patch and a few text files with the necessary instructions, so that anyone who wants to do this can do it themselves. (It's simple)

Unfortunately, I cannot provide a pre-modified exe file, this would violate Nexus's rules.

I don't know if all processors benefit from this, I think the new processors are better optimized (Ryzen X3D). So it's best to test it yourself and maybe.

Purchase performance monitoring software such as Afterburner/RTSS to check CPU usage and frame times.

While this fix is not available as a CET-based mod, it must be applied again when the game receives the update.

SAVE OR RENAME YOUR ORIGINAL .EXE FILE!!! (If you want to go back. Exe Patcher automatically creates a backup file named "Cyberpunk2077.bak", you need to delete "Patched Exe" and rename .bak to .exe to use the backup file).

Note:

The power plan you choose may affect your CPU behavior as well as SMT behavior (also associated with this "hack") in this game. I use a "Custom" power plan from 1usmus for Ryzen 3000 processors. You can try changing the minimum state of the processor to zero in the advanced power plan settings "Processor power management" or try a different power plan (thanks to residentfranklin).

Since I can only test it on my system, I'm asking you to help me. So please post your results in the comments section to share them with the community.

If you need more information, explanations or detailed benchmarks, read the articles below.

And yes, I know that these articles are older, because they are nothing new on this topic. And since after the "Official CDPR Patch" probably will be nothing new on this topic, and since too few people (like me) are affected by the SMT issue after the update, I can only refer to these old articles until something new on this issue appears.
