Update from 30.01.2016: I fixed the issue with the header, so the tree should be displayed in all existing assets in the old cities.
UPDATE 29.01.2016:
Starting with After Dark, this tree looked very different from its original state. Lighting and shadows of the leaves have changed to a lower quality appearance. It is now updated to look as intended, close to the original, by adjusting the vertex normals.
Special thanks to Shroomblaze, who not only drew my attention to this technique, but also helped with the fixing of the grid.
Also now you can enjoy playing icons with this... finally!
