About This Mod

So one day I was just sick of my wizards carrying poles around all the time, and I figured I was going to make a spellcasting weapon to sort it out. To my surprise, I came across what was obviously a wand in the dagger files, and I thought, "Hey, sticks are exactly what we need. Are there any more? And the answer was yes. Yes, they did. They made some assettes for a few wands in the game, but did not finish them for one reason or another, leaving the job to modders. So I've made some magic wands for my own entertainment, and so I present them to you here.

These sticks have to be something special both visually and mechanically, so they're not just remaking staff (well, one of them is, but it's a different story). I tried to make them interesting, but at the same time balanced according to their stage of play, but not to introduce anything too unusual for them to feel integrated into the game as it appeared.

I built them on a dagger frame so that there was no problem with the skills for the owners. They can, of course, be used to poke people as a last resort, but that is not exactly what they were meant to be. I took away the flag of Light as soon as I realized that I could clench these two fists, which is just broken.

There are currently nine magic wands. They are scattered across merchants throughout the game, and are also available as a set in a box with sticks in a training chest if you are not diving.

Apprentice's Rod - Unlocks the fire arrow spell and gives you Arkana's reinforcement. You can buy from Arron in the grove.

Balanced Wand - Gives a small boost to attack with spells and save DC. Available from Blurg in underground darkness.

Balthazar's Magic Wand - you can cast a Sickness Ray (he loves this damned spell) once per combat, and you'll get a little undead fortitude. Available from Lan Tharwa at Moonrise.

Pact Guardian Rod - Gives you a bonus to cast spells and save DC, but more importantly allows you to exchange small pieces of your soul for the ability to cast a spell without using a spell cell. Available from Mattis at Last Light.

Arc Wand - Gives bolts of lightning as you cast spells, as well as reinforcement to attack spells and save DC. Also has additional lightning damage when used in melee combat. Available for purchase at Danthelon in Rivington.

Wand of Binding - Allows the wearer to use the Call of a planar ally and place an Interplanetary bond on those who are not your allies. You can buy from the Mystic Fall in the Lower City.

The Rod of Chaos is a magic wand that opens a cantrip that deals random natural effects and brings good luck. You can buy from a merchant at the Zentarim shelter.

Chain Master's Rod - Makes your summoned creatures resistant to non-psychic damage and adds a bonus equal to your spell modifier to the damage they inflict. Available for purchase in Helsinki, Lower City.

Pyromancer's Scepter - Increases damage from your fire spells and makes you immune to fire. Also unlocks Fire Arrow to ensure you can benefit from it. You can purchase a nursery from the intendant.

And a bonus secret wand...

Vandoheshkir - You were going to sacrifice your magic wand life for Markoheshkir anyway, why not use this version of the wand instead? Available only in the Chest "Box with sticks".
