Advanced cosmetics

Better Cosmetics adds a higher level of customization to the character in ARK: Survival Ascended! Use our advanced user interface to change skin style, color (using a color palette capable of providing any color you want!), birthmarks and scars. Add certain "details" to your character (note that they are currently in development, and only a small number are available), as well as "cosmetic items" such as hats, glasses, and removing an implant sample.

Customize skins

• Skin styles: Several skin styles are available, including basic human skin and cat-like fur skin!
• Skin coloring: By using a full color palette, you have complete control over your character's skin color. Red, green, blue, you call it, and you can make sure your character can get it.
• Eye coloring: Choose your own colors for both the inner and outer eye colors using a full color circle!
• Labels: From stripes to scars to birthmarks, you can choose up to 5 markings on your skin to further diversify your character!

Part Customization

• Add various "details" to your character!
• Supports rotation, scaling and movement of all parts!
• Please note: Although Better Cosmetics is in beta testing, only a very limited number of parts are available.

Cosmetics customization

• Jewels: Score models from the base game are available for your use!
• Hats: You have a few hats from the base game that you can add to your character forever!
• Read more: Removing the implant sample from the hand!
• Full customization: Move, rotate and scale your cosmetic items to fit your character!

Hair Tuning

• Hairstyles on head and face: Choose any style from base-ARK or any mod that adds hair. Adjust the length of the hair tips, from missing to 2 times larger than the base-ARK allows!
• Eyebrow styles: Choose any style from base-ARK, or any mod that adds eyebrow styles!
• Coloring: Use the full color wheel to dye your hair and eyebrows with any rainbow color and more!
• Note: To maintain compatibility with other mods, some hair colors may display better than others.

Save Settings

• Local saves: Save your character's skin type, color, markings, details/cosmetics, and hair selection locally on your computer. You can download this template at any time, on any gender character, from any server.
• Save path: ShooterGame/Saved/SaveGames/BetterCosmetics/LocalData/
• Templates: Create an item with a custom name, description, and icon (colorization options are available!). Useful for fast face switching on a single server. Note: These templates are not transferable between servers.

Configuration Settings

• Integration with fashion menus: Change settings directly in the game using the mods menu. Simply install the mod in your single-player game or server, log in as an administrator (if applicable), and select the mod menu from the pause menu.
• ini Configuration: Configuration can be done via ini if Mod Menu is not present. We recommend using Mod Menu because it’s faster, more efficient, and lets you make changes instantly. If you want to use ini instead, the ini parameters can be found here. Note: ini will NOT work if Mod Menu is present!
• Administrator Configuration: For modification-specific settings starting in beta v0.4, the administrator configuration menu will be available through the multi-user mirror menu. This menu will allow you to add resolution/locking parts and more in the future.
