About This Mod

With this fashion, the offices of the town hall, the trade union and the port master affect the entire island. Several buildings can be built on one island, and their effects are summed up. Advanced settings try to balance these changes by increasing the cost of exposure to buildings and reducing the trade of items with merchants.

It's a little fashion I've made for myself. However, it works as intended, so I decided to share it with you.

Description.

With this little fashion, object buildings (town halls, trade unions, harbor master's offices, and Arctic cottages) will no longer affect buildings within a particular area, but will affect buildings across the island. Several town halls, unions, etc. can be built on one island and their effects will be summed up. If the same object is placed on a building, its effect is also summed up.

As a result, it is possible to create very efficient settlements and production buildings. The items are becoming more important and the islands' specialization is more realistic. It also becomes more realistic to build tall buildings rather than wide ones. Moreover, lovers of beautiful settlements will no longer have to worry about grouping manufacturing buildings around unions, and will be able to build them wherever they want.

Of course, this mode is not exactly balanced, so it should be called cheat mode; there are at least two other files in the zip folder that are trying to rebalance.

The fashion "Item Buildings Island Effect Balance Influence" increases the influence of buildings from 20 to 100 for the Town Hall and the Trade Union (and the Arctic lodge) and to 60 for the Port Captain's Office.

The "Item Buildings Island Effect Balance Trade" mod limits the number of items that can be exchanged at the mall to three, and encourages other ways of getting items, such as fairs and expeditions (possibly only works at Lands of Lions).

Note that decompressing the zip file into the Anno1800 mod folder only activates the main mod, not the two additional mods.

Compatibility.

This mod overwrites files modified by other mods, such as Spice it Up; the name of the mod file should ensure that this mod is downloaded last and overwrites other changes.

Known issues.

Some policies that can be chosen at the palace still apply only to buildings within the radius, mainly the town hall and the union. I don't know how to change them, and I'm not going to find out. It may also be that when you build a union you see a blue radius of influence. In my case, this only happened in saved games, but in any case it does not affect the gameplay and can be ignored.
