About This Mod

This regimen reduces the time it takes infections to reach 100% and makes them more lethal because they fall accidentally at each infection.

In vanilla play (a19), untreated infections reach 100% in about 7 [real-time] hours.

Maud changes this rate to 3 hours (maximum allowed real time) and adds an element of randomness, so every time you get infected, there is a chance that the treatment time of the infection will decrease.

Time Remaining" Currently, the "time remaining" [real time, not game time] after infection is as follows

Probability - time up to 100% infection, if not treated [real time, not playing].

15-3 hours

20 - 2 hours

25 - 1.5 hours

25 - 1 hour

10-45 minutes

5 to 30 minutes.

Why?

Increases the difficulty of the game.

Increases immersion. You don't know how badly infected you are until you scratch. It could be a deep wound, it could be a mutant, who knows?

More motivation to avoid touching zombies.

There is an even stronger incentive not to ignore the infection. You may have to carry antibiotics around or run quickly after them to the base, merchants, or other players.

Untreated infections during night swarms or early in the game, when looting and trafficking are impossible, can easily become deadly.
