About This Mod

It is the twentieth item of the first issue in the North Korea of the DPRK collection, representing a map of Pyongyang city with an accuracy of 98%.


This card is designed to your liking and requires the installation of dike fashion, as the aesthetics of the card in many ways requires it. This map shows areas, neighborhoods and attractions in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.


Pyongyang is one of the oldest cities in Korea. It was the capital of two ancient Korean kingdoms, Kojoson and Goguryeo, and was the sub-capital of Goryeo. Much of the city was destroyed during the Sino-Japanese War, but under Japanese rule it was rebuilt and became an industrial center.


On August 25, 1945, the Soviet 25th Army entered Pyongyang and the city became the temporary capital of the Provisional People's Committee of North Korea. A People’s Committee has already been established in Pyongyang, headed by the veteran Christian nationalist Cho Man-sik. Pyongyang became the de facto capital of North Korea after its establishment in 1948. It was destroyed again during the Korean War, but quickly rebuilt after it with the help of the Soviet Union. At the time, Pyongyang's government was trying to retake Seoul, North Korea's official capital. Pyongyang was again badly damaged during the Korean War and was temporarily occupied by South Korean troops from October 19 to December 6, 1950; in 1952, it was the target of the largest air raid of the entire war, involving 1,400 United Nations warplanes.


During the war, plans were drawn up to rebuild the city, and a truce was signed between North and South Korea on July 27, 1953. Pyongyang, destroyed during the Korean War, was rebuilt to match Kim Il-sung’s post-war vision of a morale-boosting capital.
