About This Mod
Adds a customizable HUD panel to display the current hazard/heat. Settings include:
Change the text of the label between "PERIL", the hazard symbol, or the heat flame symbol (default); or hide the label completely.
Move label around indicator edges
Reorient the indicator horizontally, vertically, or upside down.
Configure how the bar will grow: from start to end (default), from middle to edge (as in Skyrim), or from end to start.
Change the thickness and length of the scale
Adjust the time when the bar appears and disappears.
Displays the current hazard percentage on the indicator
Specify how many decimal places to display as a percentage of the hazard
In addition, the mod contains a "Thresholds.lua" file created for easy and intuitive editing, including instructions at the top of the file on how to edit it. By editing this file, you can set your own color thresholds that the mod will use, and it will automatically transition smoothly from one color to another. Thresholds can also be adjusted to "jump" in color instead of a smooth transition. By default, the threshold transitions smoothly from white to yellow to 85% when it transitions to orange; then it transitions to red on the path to 100%. Make sure you save this file when you update/reinstall the mod if you want to take your custom thresholds with you!
The mod will also override the Peril/Overheat vanilla text to match the color, visibility, and value of the indicator, although these options can be disabled separately in the mod options. Notice that the visibility and value override occurs only after you first get a railing or overheating - this is only noticeable when you use the Always Visible option.
If you are wondering why the indicator value sometimes looks fuzzy (especially when suppressing danger), it is because this is actually how the game works. The indicator reflects the true value of the current hazard, but vanilla text does not usually do so. By default, this mod rewrites the vanilla text to correct this.
The position of the indicator can be changed with the help of Custom HUD from Fracticality.
To hide railing vanilla text, open the Custom HUD editor and right-click the railing’s text area (this should be a thin rectangle called "HudElementOvercharge"). Note that if you also use raindish's HUD Tweaker, you may also need to hide it using this mod. Locate the HudElementOvercharge and uncheck warning_text/visible in both overheat and overcharge.
