About This Mod
Urban planner allows you to build a city with a custom predefined street network that is more efficient and aesthetic than what the base game produces.
You can:
- build a new city from scratch
- completely bulldozed and rebuilt the existing city
- non-destructive expansion of the existing city
There are several layouts to choose from, including: - Simple Grid
— a city of concentric
circles are various other patterns to make things interesting.
I reused some code from the mini-map to present a real-time preview of the proposed build.
Additional features:
- You can automatically set up bus or tram lines
- Options are available for the construction of motorways on the outskirts of the city and centralized streets with one-way traffic for management
traffic - Additional roundabouts at major intersections
- Allow bridges and tunnels to expand into otherwise inaccessible areas
Additional mods:
This mode is completely autonomous and does not have the necessary dependencies. However, if you choose to install, it will be integrated with the following:
- "Cancel!" - this allows you to cancel some works, such as the extension of the existing street network (note that the full replacement of the city cannot be canceled)
- "Light rail overhaul" - if equipped, you can choose the option of automatic creation of light rail above ground transport network in the city
- "Improved vanilla road junctions" - if installed, slightly improved construction for motorway junctions will be required
Caution! The restore option should only be used in cities where there are no bus/freight/tram lines. Removing all the streets eliminates the stops and the game can take off if it cannot find a place to accommodate the player's vehicles that have been online.
