Gwent Redux

Please read this if you plan to use mod in a game that is already running:

Before installing this mod, I recommend that you make an additional save file. I have to warn you that if you add new cards to your collection and then remove the mod, you will lose all your cards and the deck builder will not work. This is a problem with the original game engine, and I can't fix it.

To avoid cache issues, leave all current faction decks empty before setting the mode. I have changed the original card IDs and this may cause some cards to appear in the wrong faction if they were previously in your current deck.

In vanilla play, there are some cards that don't stack, although they are the same. This is because the game's developers used the same map for different identifiers. I've solved this problem in this fashion, but as a result, some of your cards may be replaced with new ones. Do not panic, your "lost" cards have been recovered. Just go where you bought them and the cards will be there waiting for you to buy them again. However, several maps did not recover properly, so I added them to two merchants: Marcus T. K. Hodgson in Hierarch Square (Novigrad) and a merchant from a circus troupe in northwest Karsten (Velen). I'm sorry for any inconvenience, but this was done to ensure 100% compatibility with games already running so as not to force you to restart the game.

To install the mod, unpack GwentRedux.zip and copy its contents directly into the The Witcher 3 software main folder. You can use Script Merger to find and resolve any conflict that occurs with the gameParams.ws, guiTooltipComponent.ws, inventoryComponent.ws, and playerWitcher.ws scripts, but do not combine gwintBaseMenu.ws and gwintManager.ws with other mods because they are heavily modified. It also modifies some Gwent-related files, making it incompatible with other mods that modify them (see the Compatibility section for more information). In addition, if you are using other mods that add configuration menus, you can use Menu Filelist Updater to properly regenerate the dx11filelist.txt and dx12filelist.txt files.

To remove mods, remove modGwentRedux from the mods folder and remove modGwentReduxConfig.xml from the bin/config/r4game/user_config_matrix/pc folder. Then restart the game from the previous save file before installing the mod.

To update the mod, simply rerun the mod installation process and overwrite any files on demand. Also check Script Merger if new conflicts appear to resolve them. Updating the mod will not affect your current progress in the game, so it is recommended to do so at all times.
