Steadfast Reapers
About This Mod
This mod adds the ever-wandering Leviathan Reaper and various accompanying options.
What's this mod?
This mod adds several constantly traveling Leviathan reapers.
The reason for their constancy is that after their destruction in the game, mod simulates them moving around the world map.
If the player gets close enough to a regular reaper, the mod will generate it in the simulated location.
You can visualize the whereabouts of a permanent reaper by clicking the Print Reaper Map to File button.
Why do we need this?
If you want to add more horror to your game.
If you want to make your game more unpredictable.
If you think that Leviathan reapers should exist everywhere (except at the edge of the crater).
If you just love the Leviathan Reapers!
Option.
Change Reapers: Enable or disable reapers.
Number of permanent reapers: changes the number of permanent reapers on the entire map, see ReaperNumber.
Behavior of the Reapers: See the section "Reaper Behavior".
Odor lifetime (seconds): see Manhunter.
Depth Map: Optionally prohibits reapers from entering shallow areas.
Reaper refresh interval (seconds): Optionally reduces the reaper refresh interval.
Print Reaper Map to File: prints the ASCII map of the reapers' permanent locations into a file in the MOD directory.
ReaperNumber (Reaper Number):
The default value is 50. This allows one reaper to be placed in an area about the size of a cork forest.
Printing a reaper map allows you to visualize the corresponding density of reapers.
Behavior
Normal: unchanged compared to vanilla
Bloodthirsty: Reapers become more hungry and aggressive.
The Hunter: See "The Hunter".
See Manhunter:
Players leave a trail wherever they go. This trail disappears seconds after it has been drawn [Odor Lifetime]. If a permanent reaper (simulated or not) detects a trail, he will walk on it until it disappears.
If a regular reaper sees or hears a player, he or she locks himself or herself on it. Once taken prisoner, the reapers do not give up so easily.
These reapers are only interested in the player and do not target other creatures.
Depth map.
Depth maps are used to determine the legal placement of permanent reapers.
As a rule, the reapers should not penetrate into the cracks and, if desired, should not enter the shallow water.
The depth map included with the kit can be seen in the blue image on this page.
Custom maps can also be created using the Depth Scanner mode.
Future work.
Reaper card readability improvement
Alternative appearance/color options for permanent reapers (contact me if you want to do something similar).
