About This Mod

A moderate shading adjustment designed to make the game more realistic and scary. Always use Filmic; also works with Below Zero.

(This shader will work in Subnautica Below Zero as well, but remember that it was designed for Subnautica. It looks and works the same in both games).


*Make sure you have a Filmic color rating.


| Kaiju's Shaders 2 also looks much better in the game. The original image may look a little better, but the addition of bloom, DOF, and blur makes the game look much better than the original in which everything works.


Most of the coloring settings are designed to make the game scarier or cleaner. With this shader, we wanted to give the game the best of both worlds: scary and beautiful. This shader affects performance slightly more than the first Kaiju shader, but it's worth it. With this shader, Subnautica looks bluer and more realistic, and the whole game gets darker, making it scarier and more realistic, while retaining the stunning colors of Kaiju's Shaders 2 adds more color than the original. At night, you cannot see without a light, so the torch becomes a powerful ally. (It is also recommended to adjust the gamut to your liking. I have it now set to 1.20, but if you like darker games, leave it!)
